How Long Do You Plan To Keep Your Fit?
So are you one of those people who trades cars every couple of years or do you drive them into the ground? I personally plan on putting the Honda reliability myth to the test. I'm going to keep the car for as long as it will run. Also the landscape for cars is quickly changing and I predict in 10 years there will be a huge proliferation of electric plug-ins as I feel the technology will be mature by then. In the meantime I love my Fit, it does everything I need it to do and it's a great hedge against gas inflation due to the amazing gas mileage.
So what about you?
So what about you?

Unless something extra-ordinary happens, I usually change our daily driver
every 1.5-2 years.
Hope the GE will stay rattle & squeak-free longer than the GD. I cn't stand cars with squeaks & rattles!

My last cars (96 Cougar V8, 2000 Avalon) were pre-owned (5 years old) and started to develop pretty major issues that I didn't feel like dealing with after 3 years of ownership - so I sold them. (O2 sensors bad, minor tranny issues, suspension issues + uneven tire wear)
Since my Fit is new, and I can treat it right from the onset, I will likely keep it considerably longer. One of the reasons I chose the Fit is because it seems like a car that can accommodate many changes in the family unit. For now (no kids), I can pimp it out and sport around in it. Down the line I can tame it back a bit and it will be an excellent family cruiser. I bought it with the idea that I could easily keep it around for 10+ years, and after 15k miles, I am certain this car fit's the bill. As long as it stays reliable, I'll keep it indefinately.

i'm keeping mine till i have more than two kids. i can see this car lasting me for at least 10 years if i treat it right, but it's so hard to keep it stock. the mechanic in me wants to fiddle with it so much so i can the stuffing out of it.

I hope to keep mine 10 yrs or more.
My 95 Civic Hatch is still going strong at 120,000 miles
I've repainted it twice and it looks great and runs great.
So I'm a long time honda man and hoping for as good of service out of my 09 Fit Sport . I can't tell you all at the number of people who've tried to buy the HB. but I'm a bit attached to it , it being a MT and my Fit's an Auto. I have the best of both worlds . . Later , Tigerman

Part of my justification to the wife for paying the premium in getting a Fit (as opposed to a Kia, for example) was that it would last forever. I hope to drive this car until I die (hopefully, 50-60 years from now). After that, I hope my undead zombie self will continue to drive the Fit in a never-ending yet fuel-efficient quest for brains to consume.

Here in Arizona rust is no way a problem. A car will last as long as you maintain it properly. We traded a 99 4Runner we bought new on our Fit. The 4Runner had 75,000 miles. It was actually in perfect condition and I had difficulty agreeing to trade it in. My wife had been feeling guilty for several years about driving it and wanted to get something that made a smaller foot print. I suggested she wait till the car was 10 years old and she agreed. If things stay pretty much the same I can see us keeping the Fit at least 10 years.

I just recently got a new job so it got me thinking about paying off the Fit, selling it, then buying a new car. The only car I could think of in a reasonable price range that I would like is the Civic Si. But then I thought to myself eh.... more power (which is what I want), but worse mileage and not as practical as a Fit.
Guess the Fit will stay until I can find something better. Right now there isn't much out there. I should just get a crotch rocket again to satisfy my speedy needs.
