First tank...6.3L per 100 KM (37.34 MPG)

How's that for mileage?

I've got a feeling that my 2nd tank will be better.

Also, is it normal for the MPG or KM/L counter to reset when you reset your trip odometer?

Thanks,

NS

Yes, the MPG reset is normal. Nice mileage!

if that is based on the trip comp, then its at least 10% optimistic.

My gauge is always around 4~5mpg higher than my actual...7 months of ownership/6k+ on the odometer. I'm averaging 34 with an AT. Using the paddles exclusively for a month netted me barely above 30mpg.

My first tanK I got 37.0 MPG as measured my the amount of fuel and mileage. I babied the heck out of it and it was primarily highway driving.

Second tank I got 35.8 MPG with more agressive driving. Again mostly highway driving.... and some babying.

Avoiding the jack rabbit starts and shifting into 5th gear as soon as possible. Using the instantaneous MPG gauge on the dash.... getting the thing in high gear as soon as possible seems to help the mileage a lot.

About half through my third tankful. This one will be interesting since this one is mostly interstate driving at 70+ MPH.

This was based on my first fill-up.

I put 36.4 liters in, and traveled 555.2 Km.

For the first 2500 miles, I averaged 39.4 MPG. The computer typically says 44-46 MPG, but my calculated mileage remains in the 39 range. I'm a bit frustrated that I can't get my average up to 40 MPG.

Mine's a 5 speed manual by the way.

Not sure about the terrain in US... But from SG, so far we find that higher usage on highways than city drive = better fuel consumption.

Also, the 'right-foot' control is crucial. What this means is understand how the vehicle behaves under different road condition = better fuel consumption.

Example: Fit 1.5 MT, on flat highways, it is capable of maintaining 100km/h without depression of accelerator for a good distance (approx. 3-5 seconds average) before any decrease in speed. When decrease in speed, just tap lightly on accelerator (approx. 1-1.5cm of depression) and it's responsive enough to get back to 100km/h speed.

Also, tire pressure (optimal abt 230-240psi) for stock rims+tires + engine oil (use w20) would give good fuel consumption. If tires and/or rims are changed, the fuel consumption suffers.

Fit 1.5 MT, paper specs FC is 17.6 (or is it 17.9, can't recall exact) km/liter.
