Red face GE8 remote/key went through wash...

Sooooo, it was laundry day today and my GE8 remote/key just went through an entire load of wash, aaaannnnd then a few minutes in the dryer before it was noticed... (don't try this at home..)

I am glad to report that all functions of this key still work perfectly! These are pretty durable keys!

i went swimming yesterday for a couple of hours (maybe got out of the water for 15 minutes the entire time). Upon leaving I realized my key had been in the pocket of my bathing suit the entire time. I was very relieved that it worked like a charm on the first push of the button.

Yep, the honda keys rock.

I can't tell you the number of times I have accidentally dropped my keys in a lake/puddle/swimming pool.

i would open it up and wipe down the internals... the lithium battery will short circuit when wet. can even possibly burst in your pants. LOL

..

I will keep that info in mind. Of course, I'm 70 years old and it is quite a novelty to have anything bursting in my pants at this stage of life. I might add that I have often kept the key in a pocket which also contains my paper money, held in place by a magnetic clip, which has no apparent effect on my key.

Okay so.....this key was dropped into the Meramec river over the weekend. It was completely submerged for about two minutes while we searched for it. Honestly I can't believe we found it (the water was VERY clear that day), best part is: STILL WORKS GREAT!
