Angry Valet Key for US Fit Sport

i wanted to install a remote start on my fit, and i realized that my keys didn't come with an extra valet key, so i asked them and they said they don't come with one and it would cost me @ least $150 to get another key.

don't they give you one when you buy a brand new car??

anyone here got a valet (3rd) key?

coz i'm not about to pay $200 for a damn key. That would double the price of my remote start...

I got two keys (one with remote, one without) for $90 each. No locksmith in my area could make/program them, so I had to bite the bullet. Check with another dealer, they might have a better price. If you have any made, be sure to take both of your current keys when you go, as all keys are needed to reprogram the Fit for the new ones.

I went through this with my Pathfinder. You will need to have a new key made, and (IIRC) have both of your existing keys with you so they can all be reprogrammed at the same time. You might be able to get them to program a valet-style key with no remote entry and save some bucks. Tell them that it is for a remote start and see if they can make you a cheaper key.
