The actual keys are around 40/50 bucks....they then charge you 60-80 bucks to program it.

If you just want an unlock key thats about 10

Here's a quote from my dealer in Toronto:

Sport key = $200
Key cut = $10
Program = $100

I'm thinking of driving down to the states to get extra keys and accessories. Does anyone know if Canadian Fits can be programmed in the states?

I dont undersand this because I received a valet key with my purchase of the Fit. Too bad. It must be the dealer preference

I worked at a dealer for awhile, and they had a whole big box full of valet keys in the sales department. I don't know why they would do that. Makes zero sense to me.

When my fit comes in at the end up of the month, it better have a valet key.

What's the point of a valet key for the Fit? Those are to prevent access to valuables in the glovebox or trunk. But since neither of those are lockable on the Fit, what kind of practical use does it have?

Usually a key is around 100ish give or take if you're going to make a key make a couple if you need cause you can save that extra programming fee for next time

isn't a valet key the one that you can keep with you in your wallet?

No, a valet key is a key you can give to a car valet that will not open the trunk or the glove compartment. Since the Fit has no trunk and the glove compartment doesn't lock there is no such thing as a Fit valet key.
