Interior Lighting

I just picked up my Fit this week and drove it for the first time last night in the dark. It was soooooooooooooo dark in the car with the exception of the dash lighting (which is amazing!). Has anyone installed the optional ambient under dash lighting? Is there another option?

Thanks
Fun

I have the optional ambient light kit, its not bright (which i like) but does add some nice accent lighting to the interior.

I guess because my interior is black it just seems darker than my last car which had light colored interior. I just couldn't see my drink in the cup holder. lol I'll have to think about this ambient lighting. Wish I could see it before install.

Thanks! I did a search but didn't find this one. I'm not sure that's the answer either. Maybe after I've driven it for a while I'll get used to it being so dark? It does make the dash lights look pretty cool. lol Just can't see anything in the cab.

yeah it wont help you see your cup holders, but you will be able to see your pedals and passengers feet

I guess that depends on who your passenger is, and whether "feet" are your thing, I guess.

Not that many passengers in my car so I guess the ambient lighting is not the answer.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of it once you get it installed.

Have you seen installed the door visors? I have a problem with rain pouring in when I open the window a crack. Thinking of putting these on.

fun

Thanks for this but the dome light is not the issue. The problem is there is no light under the dash to see the cup holders/ashtray, phone charger (which doesn't work). Like I said it may just be the interior seats, dash, etc are much darker than my previous car so it may just take some getting used to. And I've only had the chance to drive it once at night so far. Going to be out in the dark tonight so I'll see what it feels like tonight.

So far I'm LOVING my car though.

oooooo thanks but there is NOOO way I would even begin to try to install these myself!!! I'm good with a hammer and nails, even a screwdriver but there is no way I would even attempt this. Are you close enough to install them for me??? LOL

I DID install my own floor mats today!!! I know, I know....nothing to it. Just a couple of slices in the carpet but I was scared to do that!!! LOL

fun

It's always scary to "cut into" a new car. Eventually, the new wears off, and you get over it. I've read the installation instructions for the under dash lighting. The worst part appears to be cutting the 20mm holes for the lamp units. I'll probably try it when I get some more money. The worst that can happen is that I'll ruin one of the dash panels and have to buy a new one.

Yea I'll wait for a while before I start cutting into her. Right now just enjoying the new car feel.

Definitely going to install the door visors though.

fun
