LED map, dome, plate lights today!
So i got my lights from superbrightleds.com today and decided to install. thought you guys might like some pics!
The tools:
Maps done in cool white
Blue dome looks nice!
Now for the plates
each plate light cover slides to the right and up and out starting from the left side.
pinch the two tabs behind the cover and work the light housing out gently and the cover comes right off
the above pics has the new LED bulb in.
old left, new right
here's one of the new guy on..
now here's the fun part... Be careful when working out the assembled light housing. when you slide to the right and pull out there's a be gentle or there's a chance that you'll break it here's what the clip looks like.
and here's what a broken one looks like...sad face
now, it's important these mountings are in tight so that no water gets inside the light or car. i managed to do some quick thinking and got really lucky when i broke off a piece of this pencil and it fit into the relief in the molding PERFECTLY. VERY tight and snug so i'll be ok until i get a replacement.
does anyone know where i can pick up a replacement for this part? i'm posting this directly after the work and haven't even looked. i'll prolly end up calling the stealership...sad face.
hope this helps someone, there have been many posts about this but i haven't seen pics of the process to here ya go. i'll post more pics of the lights tonight.

I always look up parts at Bernardi Honda before calling local. Their prices are always lower and you know what part number you are looking for when you call the locals. It's probably pretty cheap but still worth looking up so you know how far you're gonna be bending over

yep my clip broke too.... the dealership changed it under warranty. does your LED dome light stay on a little in the auto mode when the car is off and it dims out? mine does, i just want to see if im to only one!

Can you take some pics of the plate LEDs at night? Curious to see how bright they are. I'm looking for something with the same light output as the stock bulbs, but in a nicer color. Also what part number did you use for plate LEDs?

they're not that bright at night. the camera on my cell sucks at night. i tried to take some pics but not worth posting. these leds are around the same brightness as the stock bulbs. perhaps a bit brighter but nothing 5.0 is gonna look twice at. here are the numbers...
i bought from superbrightleds.com. the domes are 3022-CWHP2. i got cool white for maps and blue for dome. any 30 mm light will do here. the plates are WLED-W-x "WLED-x-x LED bulb
12VDC 1-LED Wedge Base Bulb (194/168 type) with 90 or 120 degree Wide Viewing Angle LED". here you're looking for a 194 replacement. i went with 120 degree.

i checked this out and my dome light does not stay on. i tried it several times and nothing. you're unique!

the LED plate lights are just a touch brighter than the stock lights. if you're looking for a flood of laser like LED light then i'd look for a different light. just stick with a 194 replacement so it'll fit. no pun intended.

For a BRIGHT 194 replacement, try Superbright #WLED-xHP5. It has 5 high power elements (your dome light replacements use 2). I put one in my trunk light and it lights the whole trunk bright enough to read by.
