The Fit gets noticed!!

Today was the third time recently that someone has come up to me in a parking lot somewhere (today was at the Home Depot) asking questions about the Fit. Mostly being asked about the fuel mileage I've been getting. It's kinda nice to have a car that people want to know about!

I've had the opportunity to demonstrate the "magic seats" to the curious on a couple of occasions.

I have never owned a car that got so much attention. I have had people hanging out their passenger windows giving me a thumb up, I have had a guy take my cars picture through his sun roof while driving down the road and come out from the store to see someone walking around the car. One guy wanted to trade his Ridgeline for my Fit - and people will say they have never even heard of this car before - it is really cool because you feel that you have an awesome car that is unique. I love driving down the road knowing that I will most likely not see another Fit. The other day I stopped at the local Pizza place to pick up food for dinner. As I was going to give my order some peole sitting in a booth across where I had parked said, " I don't know what it is but it's a Honda"

A few weeks there were a bunch of security guards at the mall where I go grocery shopping all hovering around my car and peeking in the windows. I got nervous and walked up to them real quick and said "is there something wrong, am I not supposed to be parked here?" The said they were just admiring my car, with one of the guards saying it was his dream car and wishes he could afford to buy one (I imagine mall rent a cops don't make much money per hour). This was strange to me since the Fit is really an econobox, a nice one, but still just an econobox. When I think of dream cars I would like to own the Fit does not come to mind, but each to their own I guess.

There are tons of people that have never heard of a Fit. Ill just go on and on about the gas mileage and features and the people are always so glued to what I have to say. This guy in my college class was like man I have always wanted a Fit and we talked about it for 20 minutes. I guess I will find out next semester if he is getting one Even my friend's mom was considering buying one!

Alot of you guys/gals were not on this forum when I first got my car. I worked for a cardiologist who had test drove a BMW at the local dealership. He walked off with the keys in his pocket and wanted me to "mail" them back. I told him that the dealership was near my house and I would just return them for him. I pulled up in my freshly clean from a car show Fit to this huge picture window. There were like 5 to 6 young guys sitting around this desk and all wearing BMW sweaters. Cute! I walked around to that area and asked for the salesman by name and the guy behind the desk said that was him - I told him my boss sent me to return this key and he was like great - thanks for dropping it off. I walked back around to the door and walk to my car to see all these guys pressed against the glass looking at my car and the guy in the front mouthing "It's a Honda". They looked like the little boys in the Christmas Story movie where they are looking at the toy window at that department store. When I got to my car I just had to laugh and smile but before I got in my car I mouthed back, "Honda" and gave them a thumbs up! I tell you it would have made the perfect Honda Fit commerical.
