2010 Fit info
I'm irritated that Honda isn't dropping VSA into the Fit as standard equipment, it's becoming a fairly common safety feature and has been recognized as a huge step forward in keeping people safe on the roads.
Though, as a recent buyer of an '09, I'm kind of glad to hear that I'm not missing out on sweet new features. Even thought the gov't isn't requiring it for a couple of years, VSA should already be included as standard equipment in all new cars sold by every brand (or ESC or whatever each automaker calls it).

That would be a flippin MUST HAVE for me if it were to come out. I had it on my EP and it was just the perfect mix...I LOVED it! Ken...you got me thinking positive...thank you!
I personally wanted to see Bluetooth and XM in the Nav Unit only. Not in the base or base sport. If they are offering navigation in an economy car at a $2000 premium, there is no reason it shouldn't have Bluetooth and XM. So it wouldn't have driven up the price of the car unless you were planning on getting the Nav model, and even then I highly doubt we would have seen a price increase.
I am still waiting for the official word however as I have no idea who the OP is.

As for the Hybrid it has never been slated for NA release so i wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that. VSA is not required until 2012 model year cars. This coincides with when the MMC should come for the Fit, so while anything is possible I would bet that that will be when it receives the upgrade. I'm not disagreeing with you that it should be there. AS for BT it is a cost to the vehicle issue. You can't keep adding features without adding to cost and a 19k Sport Fit with all of this doesn't make market sense with the Civic being there..
I just got bluetooth on my aftermarket pioneer double din and it's pretty damn cool, works like a charm on my end and it seems to work very well according to the feedback i'm getting from people I call and/or call me. XM or anything with a monthly subscription for that matter, i'm not too fond of, but that's not to say others aren't. My dad has XM in his Tacoma and loves the hell out of it. To each their own. I love my bluetooth though.

This is the most boneheaded thing I've ever heard of Honda doing. I mean I've heard of bundling a sound system and a moonroof, or performance wheels and a limited slip diff, and all kinds of other packages on other cars. But to bundle a navigation system and VSA when the two have absolutely nothing to do with eachother is just about the stupidest thing I have ever heard of from any car manufacture actually.
If I didn't really need the nav system because of my poor sense of direction I might not have bought the Fit. Not because VSA would kill the deal, but just out of principle because of how ridiculous it is to bundle it with nav. Honda spouts off about "safety for everyone" and they need to put their money where their mouth. VSA is a proven lifesaver and is just as important as the seatbelt, airbags, or ABS. I will never understand this decision but it's in very bad taste on Honda's part.

Ouch. Curses. My Mazda comes off lease next spring and I was THIS close to the fit being "it".
Bluetooth: Disappointed... not a deal breaker but disappointed.
Sirius/XM: Stupid, seriously... at least OFFER an integrated solution.
VSA: Deal breaker. I can buy a Yaris next year with VSA and the price went up $150.
Ugh. And as for the Civic and Fit coming close to the same price point... until the Civic comes in a hatchback, who cares?

it's barely standard (an option prior to 2007) on a $60k range rover sport, yet you expect it in a $16k subcompact?
But I can't get VSA or Navi at any price.
Also how is something "barely" standard on a vehicle? Is that like being a little bit pregnant?
Again, as I mentioned above, I only want it in the Nav model. I do not care if they put it in the base model or base sport. There is no excuse for the Navigation model to not have bluetooth. I am not asking that Honda throw every feature into this vehicle, but when I am throwing $2000 at a Navigation model I expect bluetooth and XM to be there. Not a crippled unit that costs the same as it does on other vehicles (read: Civic Sedan)
Oh no, I am not buying your vehicle of choice so I should just leave, right? Grow up. I am free to express my frustrations about a vehicle I had every intention of purchasing. Please take your childish antidotes to the disney forums or somewhere similar.
I'm excited about getting my fit and nothing else will make me as happy as sitting between two H's.
LOL...You sound like Hillary Clinton now... Uh oh!
