2010 Fit info
If you have been paying attention to my comments, I only want it in the Nav model. Just like other Honda cars. Also, there is bluetooth in a number of vehicles (without navigation mind you), and it is slated to be at least an option (maybe standard is certain trims) in the Nissan Versa.
if you made a list of new vehicles sold today at or near $18k that offered bluetooth as standard equipment, how long do you think that list would run?
Also how is something "barely" standard on a vehicle? Is that like being a little bit pregnant?
myke
If the brochure information is correct, then I'm another disappointed potential customer; I REALLY wanted the 2010 model to have VSA WITHOUT having to pay $1850 extra for the navi unit I don't want or need (or want to pay to update with new maps every few years). I called Honda Corporate a few times over the past 6 months and also sent correspondence advocating the addition of VSA alone. I was hoping they'd listen; it seems they did not. After all, if the 2010 Toyota Yaris (all models) can have VSA, then the Honda Fit surely can.
Even though Honda Fit sales are down approximately 30% this year (vs. last year), I guess Honda feels they don't need the additional customers VSA would bring in (this is also a deal breaker for me as well). I'm bummed as I was looking forward to a new SSM Fit Sport in my garage. Life goes on...

If you were honda would you change it? they just sold a crap load of em...it would be hard to justify a change form a business stand point. You would alienate current users, and probably would not sell any more than you are now... If you have a market it will buy, not too many people are going to trade their Fits in because an 2010 has XM or bluetooth...
Honda won't make VSA standard in a Fit unless they are standard on Civic and Insight first. On 09 models Civics only has VSA on EX models. I don't know about 2010 Civics but it they don't add VSA across the board they definitely don't add it in Fits.
Also, the list doesn't have to be long, as my point was not that it is standard on ALL vehicles, it is however standard in Navigation models or in Nav packages on a much longer list of vehicles in this range. Part of the reason even that list would be short is the lack of nav options in many "econoboxes"
It is either standard or not. There is no barely standard. It would better to say that is only recently became standard. And I am not even going to touch your disgusting comment.
I believe that model came from and SI or EX-L.
So for $15,000 you rather get a KIA, and not purchase a HONDA with unlimited cargo room, 35+ mpg, awesome handling and drivability, long lasting engine, and an extremely fun car to drive JUST because you can't get bluetooth and satellite? Sounds like the Fit was never the right car for you to begin with. I think you need to get your priorities straight and be willing to sacrifice some features to gain some better features.
We all kinda knew there wouldn't be any major changes for 2010... some were hoping for VSA, xm, bluetooth, etc.etc... which probably could have been possible for Honda to add on even as an option at any trim level.
I'm glad I waited 4 months for my MT w/Navi... The steering wheel controls are priceless to me... I've only seen VSA come on 4-5 times nothing major yet, but I'm sure when it helps me avoid some thing in the future it would be worth it...
The Navi ehhh, mixed feelings.... It's nice to have the usb, and aux options, as well as the gps, but it would have been nicer if the unit came with the features it was meant to have... Mainly the bluetooth, and for me the ability to add on OEM front/rear view cameras as the JDM version. DVD playback would have been a nice luxury as well, but not needed for me.
Supposedly bluetooth, and a few other options have been disabled by Honda, and might be possible thru hacks.

No excuse for not making VSA standard.

Well puzzle me this, Up here in the land of ice and snow Honda in theur wisdom does not even offer VSA on a Fit at any price. I guess we are better drivers!
Although I would like VSA, I drove a Rabbit with it for the last two winters, (with 4 snow tires) and I remember it coming on once, in a slide. I think it might be a bit over rated on some cars. However I have it on my Tundra, and it makes a 2 wheel drive truck actually usable in the winter.

I would PAY for VSA. $1800? No. That's ridiculous. It is standard on the Yaris in 2010 and the price of the car is going up $150.00. This reeks of VW and the 1.8T back in 2000. The motor made 150hp in the Passat, 170 in the A4 and 200 in the TT. They were the same motor... each just had different turbo pressure settings set by the onboard computer. In my case, I just bought a re-programmed ECU and BAM... 200hp. XM is standard on a Hyundai Accent for Pete's sake.
Honda's reputation wasn't built on how many options they can stuff into a vehicle. Their reputation was built on their reliability and tunability in the tuner world. I doubt it would hardly be practical for Honda to add VSA to ALL of their vehicles, at least for the 2010 model year and it surely wouldn't be profitable because adding VSA, XM, Bluetooth, coffemakers, etc to the fit an raising the price would turn away buyers in the lower price ranges. I personally don't care for VSA or any traction control. It is better in some vehicles than others.
