*** 2009 Fit Sport Winter Tire Question ***

Thanks for the informative answers! Yeah, running 205s does seem like pushing it, but I'm trading in a car and have to put 1 of the 2 sets I have and obviously, I should be putting the lower cost one on... ie. 195s
So running 195s on 15" steelies is ok right? If so, I'll put the 205s on the car I'm trading in and keep the 195s for winter.
Would 195s or even 205s not clear due to the extra 1-1.5" in width?

MY Les Schwab tires store (only in the northwest) has steel 15 inch wheels for a Fit the cost $50 each, which still seems plenty for a black painted wheel Id reccommend Toyo Observe 185/64/15. Very similar to a BLizzack but not as squirmy on dry and quieter.

I take back the size statements before of which one is the best fit. The 195's will be off by about 1mph when traveling at 60mph. I still think it's too wide for that size/weight car for snow tires but it is much better than 205's. My integra ran 195/55/15's and they ran pretty good in the winter. Too bad I don't have my GS-R Blades and winterforce tires still.

Am I better off getting the packages at tirerack or town fair tire?

The sensors should work. You'll have to have the dealership reprogram them (at a minimum cost of $90) each time you swap from summer to winter. That's $180 minimum every year.
You can see why some people have disabled TPMS.

Are you serious? NO chance of me paying to reprogram... whats the car do with no sensors?

Black electrical tape in front of the LED, and it's gone.
Although, and this is kinda important if it applies to you: On the Sport with VSA, VSA will not turn off with TPMS tripped.
No VSA, no problem running with no sensors.

So I called Town Fair tire
To get rims (Yokohama) & snow tires installed & balance: $750...
If you have your own rims... $500
I'm just going to get the whole package, seems easier that way. Should last a long time if you keep switching them.

We'll be doing Steel Wheels with Snow tires on the Fit this winter and don't expect to pay more than $550 shipped from tirerack.com or Discounttire.com I paid under $400 for 4 215 width 17" tires shipped and mounted/balanced on my Altima's Alloy Wheels. The 15" steel wheels/tires should be much less than the Altima (although I'll be getting the steel wheels with the tires).

Yesterday $840 from tire rack Blizzaks, alloy rims, tpms sensors, delivered. No steelies, yet.

I just put together in Tirerack a set of 15" MSW alloys with Winterforce 185/60/15's for $532 (Not including shipping) mounted and balanced. If I go the Recommended 195/55/15, it is $4 more. One way I am .7mph off (slow) and the other I am .5mph off (fast) I think for the winter I'll go with the $185's... oh and there's also a $25 Gift card with the 4 tires...
I figure Steelies will be about $100 less total so $430 + shipping... so under $500 total. ($under $475 shipped after the Gift Card) (no TPMS)

No, 15"
The TPMS sensors are an extra $140. There is $50 (or $100) back.
4x Sport Edition at $81 each
4 x Blizzak at $73 each
4 x Sensors at $35 each
Shipping $89
Total $845.
Steelies at $25 each?

Winerforce @ $58 Each ($232)
shipping $91
Gift Card $25
total:$596 Mounted and Balanced.
I expect to see $50/wheel for steelies and a slightly lower shipping cost so under $500 mounted, balanced, and shipped.
