*** 2009 Fit Sport Winter Tire Question ***

Is that really necessary? Another TPMS thread

I didn't see anything in the owners manual (online version) though.
The Fit Service Manual talks about special tools for the procedure... Tire Rack doesn't seem to mention that extra cost. Where did you see that you need to go to the dealer.
Black tape is looking better and better ;-)

I sent Tire Rack a question about whether or not they would be making steel wheels available (for my '09 base) and it looks like they aren't going to be. Maybe if enough people express an interest....
-----------------------
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry to the Tire Rack. I do not see any steel wheels for that vehicle in the immediate future. Be sure to check back periodically, as we add new styles and fitments on a regular basis.

I just read that Obama will impose a tariff on tires imported from China. Starts Sept. 26 at 35%. With further increases in 2010 and 2011. U.S. to Impose Tariff on Tires From China
I'm assuming this will lead to an increase in prices for non-China tires as well. What do you think?

I paid $54 dollars per rim at Canadian Tire. I bought the 4x100mm 14" generic steelie. I took one home and checked it for caliper clearance, and all was good, so I bought the other three. I had 185/75R14's installed, and all is good. '09 Sport with stock 16's. The winter tires are the same diameter physically, but I haven't checked the tire calculator that someone else linked. Close enough for this guy.
I don't want to spark up any kind of debate about hub centric rims or OEM Honda stuff, I'm just telling you what worked for me. I have a 1000kms on them with good results. Beats the $100 Honda wanted, plus they couldn't even find rims for the '09 in their parts list. Plus he was trying to tell me our sport has different brakes than the other models, and I would have clearance issues with non OEM rims
