I just tell people it's not a f-ing park bench so get the hell off. What really gets me is their car is usually parked right next to yours, but everyone is leaning on your car, WTF! Inconsiderate people piss me off.

I always park where I have a curb on one side of my car. When I went to this Wendy's yesterday, it was 10 pm with absolutely no activity. It was also closing in 5 mins, and these people did not even want to eat there. They just wanted to smoke there, couldn't believe it.

Besides somebody inflicting harm on my wife or animals, probably the only thing that can drive me to violence is some asshole damaging my car due to spite or unconcern (wouldn't matter).

BTW, I'm no fan of the Cayenne, but for the record, the "S" version tops out over $90K, hardly any "poor man's" anything.

"The remote parking partner thing is a mystery. My only guess is that some people park next to us in remote spots outta some caveman instinct, although there's a small few who did it out of spite, "Who does he think he is, parking his little special new car way out here...I'll show him."

I completely concur. It's an interesting phenomenon why people choose to park next to another car even if it's further out of the way for them and there are many empty spaces closer to where they want to go.

I always park away from other cars and it seems about 90% of the time, when I come back there's a car parked next to me.

This happened to me once a long time ago. I came out of a store and saw some idiot just casually leaning on my car propped up on his elbow. He was standing there talking to some chick. He didn't notice me until I got right up to my car and opened the doors via remote alarm. He quickly got off my car and stepped away from it. I didn't say a thing and walked over to my car visually inspecting every inch of the area he was leaning on. He says to me "is something wrong?" I reply "well it's your lucky day since there are no scratches or marks on my car. In the future you should really be more respectful of other people's property." He didn't say anything and just kind of stood there motionless.

It was his lucky day because if my car had been scratched or dented because of him the next thing that was going to happen was me knocking him out right there. I remember being in an absolutely crappy mood that day and I was looking for an excuse to fight (I used to get into street fights a lot when I was younger). Hopefully he learned his lesson though, because there are some crazy mofo's out there who would shoot you for something like that.

One small thing people haven't mentioned about cars parking next to them in a remote spot. When I had my crappy VW, I would often park near a nicer car. Not because I was going to ding it. Or sit on it. But because the nicer car might be more into keeping their own car nice, and not mess up my car anymore than it already was.

Also, because I did care about door dings and I was very careful and I rarely had a passenger, I "protected" their nicer car with my car.

I can only speak for myself, I don't know what other people do.

Also, folks, when you park at a distance, be real careful about slopes...if you're parking at the bottom of a slope. Guess where runaway carts go? To the bottom. And your car.

annnnnd, it happened to me again.....today.

remote parking partner...remote parking moths...parking crabs...car herpes....whatever phrase works best, the bastards did it again. huge Kroger parking lot....i couldn't have picked a more remote spot, furthest column of spots from the entrance, furthest spot...countless empties between me and the little cluster towards the front of the store. Came out, and I got a moth.

...this was a little different, and is why i'm mentioning it. '09 Silver Fit Sport, spotless...parked next to mine, but gave me wide birth. So, what's the unwritten rule in this situation....? I figured, eh cool...at least it's someone just as anal about protecting their new car, and hey cool, another Fit. So, no worries...drive away. Me, though....I doubt I'd parked right next to another like-minded driver's car....better than an freakin truck or minivan, but still...gotta respect one's space. Even best buddies aint gonna piss side-by-side at a wall of urinals if there are more than two to piss in...

Lol...I would have, but the group of guys were ''gangsters'' with baggy pants, smug looks etc...so not worth messing and risking any damage on the Fit.

I work in a hospital and we have two garages. There are other people my shift that have Fits and I love it when they park their fit next to mine. Usually not many vacant spaces so not that common. But in your situation, due to the open area, I think that may be overkill. If there's gonna be room before and after, don't park that close.

That is why I use my wife's handicap sticker. Us old decrepids are respectful of other peoples cars and those spots are sooo wide that 3 would Fit. Some days I really do need the sticker as I have bad back as well.
