I know in FL glass only claims are covered at no deductible, its waived.

I thought this was the case for most states as well.

Thumbs down

I have a crack running from the very top of my windshield, to about half way down the glass, right in the middle of the windshield. I'm not convinced it's from a rock, as there is no evidence of a strike. There is no chip or obvious strike from where a rock struck, just a nice neat crack running down the glass.

Broken Windshield on my Fit

I hit something pretty big while driving at night a week ago. I did not see it coming. I expected the usual puncture type spot but the crack just ran across the entire width of my windshield within about 2 minutes as I was driving. $430 replacement, ouch.

I asked if it was a genuine Honda part and the answer was no. Genuine Honda costs around $900 in Southern California. It is a big windshield than most cars and kind of low to the ground. I am thinking of lowering my deductible to $200 from $500 to ease the pain if it happens again

Same shit just happened to me a few days ago.

I had a small crack from a flying rock (which i swear was not from the car in front). It didn't grow over night, and AAA had the safelite guys come out and "fix" it for free.

Well, this "fix" turned a 1/4 inch crack into a foot and a half long crack. The guy even acted like this was normal. GAH.

At least i have a $100 deductible if i need a new one.

My windshield attracts stones and bugs; it's kinda a mystery due to the streamlined shape of the car. I'm used to the Wrangler taking a beating with its straight windshield, but it seems stuff should skate right over the Fit.
BTW, many of the stone strikes I've experienced came from opposing traffic.
