Console Install

Below are some pics of my new console, while this one is an inexpensive one, it was easy to install and will do for now until I can afford the factory one.

Here it is before install, two pieces total

Bottom half

bottom piece view from front

underside of bottom half

side view of top half

top view of upper half

underside of top piece

upper piece extended

whole unit hinged in up position

first remove the arm rest

align after joining both pieces and screw down to console

Attach to rear of lower console

finished product

Trying to figure out how these detach if anyone has an idea ?

This console was only $60 shipped bought on Ebay UK so not bad a starter

To remove those old armrest bolts, just get a metric open-end wrench on it back at the base, where the bolt meets the seat.

I forget the wrench size.................maybe 12mm or somewhere around there.

Thanks, that did the trick. Couldn't get a 12 on them, used a 9/16 but at any rate both came out. Do they make a plug or something for that armrest hole ?

My console from zetaproducts came with a plug. You could check their site to see if they sell them individually.

I just installed last night so haven't been out to test yet but I'll keep you posted. As for the height, I'm not sure how high the other ones are by comparison but I guess I could measure from top to roof. As far as the quality, I'm a little dissapointed. I had a simular one on my 08 Fit and it was much more sturdy. This one is securely attached but feels weak compared to my old Fit's console. It is nice in that you can swivel up out of the way but lack much storage room although my goal was a better armrest. Overall, for the $65 I paid for it including shipping, it's probably worth that much and is better than the old armrest attached to the seat.
Hope that helps, feel free to ask other questions you have about it.

Ok, just took a drive and tested the new armrest. First, only one person can rest their arm on it at a time. Next, it has some left to right flex movement going on. Overall, if you want an inexpensive console it's bearable but I really would not recommend it.

I bought one just like it and it did not come with the drivers seat cap. I think it will still install with the OEM armrest still attached on the drivers seat, just a guess. I plan on just using the OEM one and won't be installing the new one. Anyone wants it, I'll sell it for $45 shipped. PM me if interested.

Update: It won't instal unless the driver's seat armrest is removed. However, it would be something that the Base Fit could use as there is no driver's seat arm rest (if memory serves me).

I installed the Honda Accessory armrest. It's perfect and worth the money. It also looks a hell of a lot better than the one pictured here (or any other one people have posted thus far). I have a base fit. If anyone wants the cap to cover up the armrest you have to remove, I'll be glad to send it out. The base didn't have an arm rest on the side of the seat, so I'll just throw it out otherwise.
