GE8: One Year Review
GE8: One Year Review
October 11, 2009 was the one year anniversary of my GE8. It's funny how fast time passes by. I still feel like I just purchased my GE8 yesterday. I think it's because it feels like it still drives like new. After one year, I have accumulated 25,xxx miles. I changed my motor oil every 3K miles and I changed my ATF every 5K. I work in Downtown L.A. and do a great amount of city driving compared to highway. So you can imagine the great deal of stress and wear I put on my L15A7. But as I always say, your car is as good as how well you take care of it. When it comes to my cars, proper maintenance is always my main priority. And with the GE8, there isn't much to do as far as maintenance goes. All I've done in a year are oil changes, transmission fluid changes, and tire rotation, and alignment. The brakes are still good, though I feel like brake pedal feel has become softer than before. It's been a year, so brake fade is normal. I do admit that I tend to brake hard at times. Can't help to toss the GE8 around, especially in the corners. And boy can the GE8 corner like a champ, even in stock form. Understeer becomes more and more apparent as time passes by. The GE8 understeers, but it's controllable. The rear is stable and I never feel like it'll break out. So I would say that cornering stabilty is good and suspension has a very neutral setup. So, after 1 year, I don't really have any complaints. I just wish my GE8 had more power. But don't we all? Thank you Honda, for creating a perfect daily driver to fit us all, especially during this poor economic time.
