Ugly trans noise...

In the morning, car cold, ambient temps around 50f I back out of my driveway (about 75 feet), turn back, stop completely. When I put the car in drive I wait until I feel the trans engage before I apply gentle gas. As the car starts to roll forward, steering wheel unwinding straight the trans makes a sickening "crunch" sound. I wanted to find out if anyone else's does this before I call it in to Honda. I'm not still rolling back (I know that can cause this gear noise) and I'm waiting until the trans engages (albeit momentary). If I sit still several seconds it does not make the noise. It has not done it warm and the trans fluid is fresh (changed at 14k).

Anybody else experienced this?

There are two sounds. One is the brakes auto adjusting. Happens after switching directions and during braking for the first time. The second one is after putting the car in drive you let off the brake and start moving and you hear a louder crunch sound. It sounds like the gear in the tranny is locking into place. I am familiar with these because my 05 accord did the same thing. I didn't have any issues with that car up to 36k when I sold it. I know that some Honda auto trannies have issues. This does worry me for the long term of the car though.
