GE8 i-vtec Light?

Anyone know which colour, or pin number the vtec switch is on the ECU? Lots of info on here about GD vtec lights but couldn't find one for GE... I'll volunteer to do a DIY if someone can point out "the wire". (Honda employees, where are you?)

source from a friend of mine....

You can DIY a light by running a wire with a 3mm/5mm LED with 470ohms resistor from the solenoid of rocker arm to detect the vtec signal.

When ECU send the 12V signal to solenoid, it will light up.

There only two wires connecting the solenoid.
Green+Yellow = Positive
Brown = Negative or ground.

I have mine connected directly to the ECU. I attached a drawing I made up in paint of the ECU pins and which 1 to use previously. Let me locate and reattach to this or just use the solenoid. For the ground, I just have it grounded to the chassis.

I have my LED mounted in a hole already present in the steering column, when I replaced the stock steering wheel the hole was exactly perfect for the LED I was using. VTEC kicks in at 5200rpms (J's reflash) and 5300rpms is stock activation, so if you don't see it light up, then you did something wrong.

It would be nice to tap that pin with this gauge ---> LEDmod.com Color Changing Gauge Face [Shift Light] - YouTube

Vtec just kicked in....

Damn, I really want that mod for the gauge.

It's supposed to let you know exactly when vtec engages, afaik nothing more nothing less. Ofcourse you could also do that by looking at the rpms provided you know at what rpms it engages. 555 posted em in the previous post.

I didn't really care for it, since I don't push my car that often, but after seeing that youtube mod for that Toyota gauge, I thought that would be a good idea to sync with vtec kicking in.

I guess I kind of knew what the point of it was, just had hopped some one had a better answer then "just because" *shrug* To me it seems pretty pointless to wire up a light just so you know when VTEC kicks in YO!

I'm glad you asked, I was wondering as well.

I'd rather hear it or feel it, which I hope would be the case. If neither of those happen, I certainly don't need a light that brags about it.
