and have her read any and all reviews in the automotive press.
I agree with the others... it is going to be your daily driver, then you need to be the one that is happy with it. Surely she will want her opinion to be known; however, she should also want you to be happy since it is your car to drive. This is what happened with my wife and I, she thinks the fit is a "boys car", but she is really happy that I am very happy with it.
One 'tactic' I found myself using was that I first spent quite a bit of time (by myself) looking at all the cars we were considering. When it was time for the wife to review the final contenders, I had her sit and drive in each car, with the Honda being last on the list. I would join her in the oohs and ahhhs and show her all of the cool features of each car, to demonstrate we were working as a team. Eventually, I would slowly point out an item or two that I really disliked about each car (saggy interior finishes, akward designs of rear folding seats, number of safety stars, etc), and try to illustrate those as indications of what the car is really about. The items I disliked in those cars, I knew were also good selling points in the Honda Fit.
Then I got her to Honda, and the Fit was (magically!) answering the question marks where the other cars were coming up short.
Even though the styling was still not her preference, she had a feeling that it was still the better overall car.
Also, I think finding a Honda salesman that she will be comfortable with will really help the process too. The guy trying to sell us a Versa was straight up cliche with the gold teeth and excessive jewelry- actually a really nice man and pleasure working with, but he still ended up negative in her good/bad review of the versa! I didn't anticipate this going into buying the car, but later realised how important the salesperson was to her once I saw her succesfully being schmoozed by our fantastic Honda salesman (he had already won me over with his first offer too!
).
Have fun on your wedding day, and good luck to your future!!!

also... we see a bit of snow each year here in Kansas (just got 6 inches in the last 24 hours), lots of ice, and many rain storms that can lead to flooding. Our primary car is an AWD Subaru Legacy that we couldn't be happier with. However, this is my 3rd front wheel drive honda in this climate and I've never had a problem. I never even encountered a problem in my Prelude when I was living in the colorado rockies continental divide for a winter!
Have you test driven an impreza? My wife wasn't willing to trade the Fit's gas mileage for the impreza's AWD considering we already own another subaru, or else I probably would be the owner of an impreza instead! We love the subies!

Hello everyone!
So i want to sell my '94 honda accord show car/daily driver & get a fit. I love everything about the car. Haven't test driven on yet, but soon i will. The problem is my fiance/soon to be wife. She's not crazy about the car. For example, she thinks it's ugly & a P.O.S. Sorry guys. So i need help convincing her why we should buy it as our 2nd car. She drives an 08 Nissan Rouge AWD. Not a bad car, but not for me. I need something with more of a sporty look/feel. Any ideas would be great!
Here's a link to my honda accord. FOR SALE!!

Get the fit. It's great for your goals as a daily driver, and if done right, can turn into a great show car as well. In regards to your wife, do what others have said and let her have HER car. Just iterate that to her. You're the main driver of it, and she doesn't have to worry about anything else because she has HER car.
What makes her so skeptical about it anyway? Did she give you a real reason? Do you have any other options on cars? Considering buying used?

But now we have our 2 daughters, 2 full size collies, so 1 SUV does make sense for us and I admit the Murano is awesome and I am a non-SUV guy. So for us going up to the cabin the Fit as roomy as it is will not work for that.
well i went from a fit to hundayi genisus to jeep patriot. but i still keep coming back to the fit. i like the genisus, but it's gonna run me around 26k & i'd like to stay under that. the patriot was alright, but i found myself trying to like it. but as i said, i keep coming back to the fit. my first car was a 85 toyota mr2 & i think once you've owned a small car, you always have a thing for them. Plus, i can tune my fit for less than the genisus would cost.

Sitting in the car, seeing the way the magic seats work, and finally driving it will make her a believer. Oh, and the gas mileage…the gas mileage! I bet that if you get her to drive the Sport with paddle shifters or MT, she will be begging you to buy the car so she can drive it.
We went from a '91 Accord to a 2010 Fit Sport and my wife is utterly impressed with the Fit.

I thought I would add one thing....being a chick (hence the name) I've bought three cars with my husband of 12 years (including this last one) and what HE'S learned is that women tend to have an emotional reaction to cars and/or big purchases in general. I already sort of knew that. So even though there's every feature in the book she may not like it for some unspecified emotional reason (which to men seems crazy, but is the way it is sometimes!).
I bought my Fit partly because it was logical, and partly because I fell in love with it on a test drive.

Interesting Accord... used to have a 2000 Accrod V6, but tradded that in for my current FIT. The accord was the luxury model for that year, but I actually like the Fit more. It haz USB port.
I'd get the Fit. You'll like it. And your fiancé’s gonna have to put up with it. She's got her own ride.
