Rattling/loose center console?

Hey guys. Apologies if this is a repeat, first off.

In my '09 Fit, the center console is incredibly loose, with about 1/2'' play from side to side where the cup holders are, ahead of the shifter. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Before I tore it apart with the possibility of screwing something up, I figured I'd ask.

I just got mine (used '09) the other day and was wondering the same thing. I'm betting it's normal. I inspected the way it was attached and everything was as it should be. It looks like the design is meant for light weight and ease of removal.

Mine is loose as well, like stated above, there isn't a lot holding it in there.

Since it's made that way and it bothers you (ie noise, etc.), why don't you remove it per the diagram that someone on this thread provided... put some velcro or double back tape along the edges where you can't see it and reinstall. The movement, then, wouldn't be noticeable and irritating.
