Driver's left arm rest: Uncomfortable for other tall people?

I'm 6'2" and position the seat all the way back, the steering wheel as close as possible and low enough that I can still see the gauges. I find that my left arm just doesn't have the best comfort and begins to ache after my usual drives. The culprit seems to be that the arm rest on the door doesn't go back far enough. It's tapered off so my arm ends up being 'rested' forward, instead of being relaxed.

Might anyone have any suggestions on how to make the door arm rest any more comfortable? I've wondered if there's an arm rest bolt on the left side of the seat under the fabric.

I still haven't found anything better than this little "elbow pillow" I made.

Hmm. Mine seems to be too far away from the wheel, but I'm about 4" shorter. I end up putting my elbow up on the top part by the glass, but it's wearing the fabric down and making a roughed out spot.

x2^ my elbow is still not fully comfy on the window area. i try driving with both arms slightly bent so i dont touch the arm rest/entire side panel of the door.

The armrests don't extend far enough back because the doors aren't very long. They don't extend back far enough to have the armrests in the ideal place for tall drivers. For that, in this size class, nothing tops a Civic Coupe (at least the 01-05 generation)

The front doors of the Fit feel, to me, to be just as long, if not longer than on my old PT Cruiser. The arm rest was far better on that car. There was plenty of room for anyone's arm with that door panel design. That's one of the few things I miss about that car.

As for coupes...I've never liked them. The doors are way to long for my taste.

There are arm rests on the doors? I see no armrests, just a sort of molded "ledge" on the door. Lack of usable armrests in this car have trained Uncle Gary to be a "10 o'clock and 2 o'clock" driver, and as a result, I never use the armrests anymore.
