Changing Tire Size

Say if you change your tire size to 205/50/16 and you get into an accident and its a total loss but you still have the GAP insurance. Will it void your GAP insurance since its not factory specs?

I would assume that depends on your gap insurance provider? This seems to be a question you may want to take to your agent, rather than a forum. Insurance and warranty disputes between a consumer and a provider happen all the time...

Only problem I see is if your changing tire size contributed to the accident. Tire diameter contributing to fender rubbing could be a culprit.

People running Stretched tires that do not fit the rims properly (Per the tire or wheel manufacturer's specs) or those that are running insanely high pressure "got sum splainin to do" but as long as the tires are inflated properly and are the correct FITtment, there should be no issues.

But as recommended, talk to your insurance company and if possible have them put it in writing. If they ask why, tell them you are paranoid and like to have everything on letterhead.

I am thinking of upgrading my tires to 205/50 16. Is the recommended psi the same with these as before with the original narrower tires? I think it is 33psi.
Thanks.
