Si vs Fit
I remember the turbo PT I have unfortunately. Not only I had trouble with it mechanically, but I had nothing but trouble with the law with it, too. 4 speeding tickets. As for the Fit, almost one......... almost.
I just traded in my GD3 for a 2010 FA5. Its the first Kpowered car I've driven and I can tell you it won't be the last. I don't miss the utility of the Fit because I really never used it. And my first tank in the Si was 32 mpg. Which was a bad tank in my Fit but I was expecting to be in the 25 mpg range so I'm very pleased. I thought I would miss the "fun to drive" factor of the Fit but I'm not.
Plus my wife and I are considering buying a GE8. So I might not be Fitless for long.

Its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow...
I kind of wish they would make a Fit Si, I know it would eat Civic Si sales, but I would prefer the hatchback configuration. Especially as I have heard that Honda is pulling the plug on the Si sedan, which is kind of a bummer. But maybe they are going to build the Fit Si since it will be different enough from the Civic coupe? Oh how I would line up to buy a Fit with an Si drivetrain... I can only dream though...

As for the Fit Si. I think they should do it. But not with the Si Drivetrain. transplant the R18 and up the rev limiter a little bit. it's a light engine that would do I think quite well in the fit as it would retain decent fuel economy yet provide 140+hp (probably 150+ with the rev limiter raised and ECU re-tuned). Drop in the 6MT and it would be a fun little hauler. It would give the fit more of a Mini cooper power/weight ratio and wouldn't make the car insanely nose heavy like a k series would up front. The economy would probably not change much because the extra torque from the R18 would negate the weight gain of the engine. i would also allow for better cruising on highways at lower rpm.
