Hello all - I've been dabbling with the thought of selling my 2007 Civic Si Coupe, and getting a Fit. Was wondering what others thought?

The Si is a dream - nothing wrong with the car at all. I can afford the Si - though I haven't felt the pain of replacing the Summer Sport tires yet. I have just over 5K miles on the Si. I do have a family - youngest is 8 months old. The wife has an '05 Accord - and we usually take that. The Si is a BLAST to drive - I could drive all the time without the stereo - just listening to it's clean growl.

I'm thinkng about the Fit for space, fuel economy, lower insurance, lower payment, and hopefully a lower cost of ownership.

I hold back because I don't know much about the car - and it's in it's first year here. I think I've read that it's been for sale in Europe for a few years now. I also simply worry about missing the Si. Those close remind me that I'll lose money selling the Si so soon - I think about what I'll save starting the day I sell the Si, and buy a Fit...

Also...while I'm here - has anyone had the latest edition Accord, and then switched to the Fit? I took the wife to look at a Fit - and she immediately thought the Accord had more room in the back seat for kids - I'm not convinced...

Anyways - stories/feedback/anything would be great.

selling/trading in a 1 year old car is stupidest thing someone can do.

and let the wife convince you, accord is bigger. fit got the same interior space only when you fold everything down. so unless you can hang your kid's child safety seats to nothing, accord got more room.

 

I have sold my car already, I had it since April 06.. sold late last month. The trade actually paid off my lean and gave me money to put down on my current car.. :D
