that was stupid.

So, when I picked up my Fit, it didn't have the body plugs.

I went in today to get them installed.

Got my car and I went to eat. Looked at the car and found out, I'm missing two bolts for the strakes (one for each side). WTF?

They TOOK parts!

The receipt says there were two body plugs installed... so uh, am I still missing two?!?

gah, I'm not going back there no more.

strake [streɪk]n1. (Engineering / Mechanical Engineering)a. a curved metal plate forming part of the metal rim on a wooden wheel
b. any metal plate let into a rubber tyre

2. (Transport / Nautical Terms) Also called streak Nautical one of a continuous range of planks or plates forming the side of a vessel
3. (Engineering / General Engineering) a profiled piece of wood carried on an arm that rotates round a fixed post: used to sweep the internal shape of a mould, as for a bell or a ship's propeller blade, in sand or loam
im so confused... the meaning made things worse.

The "strake" are two pieces of black plastic moldings that sit right in front of the rear tires. At the bottom where the well meets the floor and about 5 inches in from the outside. Looks a bit like a cross of sorts.

The missing body plugs are on the bottom... and yup, they only installed two, so I'm ordering two more, plus the two missing clips (apparently not bolts). I wonder if they "power wash"ed it so hard that it popped out.

I also lost one front clip (one of the four at the front of the bumper on the bottom)... I took my bumper off and when I put it back on, I found one hole missing a clip.

2010 Honda Fit PDI

pages 3 and 4 shows you the pictures of the strake and body plugs.

When I went to the dealer I asked them for the missing plugs and told them that I would install them myself. They acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. I displayed the PDI.PDF to them on my netbook and they asked me (with a shocked look) "where did you get that?" I said "online" then he told me that it's not to be trusted as real. I then told him that other Fit owners were getting body plugs and talking about it in forums. He argued further and even suggested that mine were probably removed by the rustproofing company I went to. I assured him that I watched them closely and they didn't remove them. After enough convincing, he went into the shop to get some and returned with only 2. More arguing and I finally got all 4 and walked out.

I don't get why they make it so difficult to "deal" with them. They're supposed to be "dealers".

I have yet to get mine. I'm gonna call and have them mailed. I'm not letting the dealer near such an easy job. They're bound to screw it up. What the hell does the strakes have to do with this job and why were they even near them? Too goofy. It's plugging four holes with rubber.

Run....

I think they used power hoses to clean the car for their "complementary" wash. But it probably pushed too hard on the strake from the back, thereby popping out the clip.

I originall thought they were bolts, which of course would've meant someone had to unbolt it, but its just one of those plastic clips... Who knows how strong they really are.

Yep, it applies to the 2009 Fits as well. There was another big thread about it a few months ago:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ody-plugs.html

Also, if a dealer asks you where you got it from, you can tell them you signed up for Honda's service express site (https://techinfo.honda.com/Rjanisis/logon.asp?Region=US)... I'd hope the dealer wouldn't question that site .

Yea mine are missing, granted I am the second owner of the car I will still pressure them to install them on the car. It's something they should have done before it left the lot regardless of me being the second owner the car is still well within the warranty.
