Rule of thumb coming out of this thread tells me to set tire pressure when cold.

Not sure. There is an old thread around here with someone who had chalked their tires. I believe they were going with a similar F/R ratio. The car will handle plenty of steering input to offset the understeer because the rear is so planted. Ultimately there is more grip because you are increasing what the rear suspension can offer to the total grip equation. With your current setup, I bet you are losing something like 5% overall, even though it will oversteer a little more. Once you've maxed the rear patch, it will look to the front for the rest, and if you can then easily surpass that grip, then it's not well balanced. Neutral handling is probably best for daily driving.

I have not noticed any skipping in the rear, even when I had all rear seats, spare tire, and jack removed with aggressive driving.

Due to your GE8 being a FWD, it's best if you have a lower PSI up front than the rear. The front wheels/tires will be doing most of the work. The rear is just going along for the ride. I would suggest trying out 30 PSI Front / 32 PSI rear. See how you like that setting on a couple laps, then adjust accordingly.

Well, that's conflicting advice from what I just said, but give them both a try. That is not a rule of thumb JDMxGE8. What about when you have a larger rear sway bar? There is no weight over the rear, and it's not exactly along for the ride unless you are auto-xing and can afford the loss of high-speed stability in the turns.

I would think a lower psi overall, such as the one you recommened would be best for tracking since there is more contact with the road. When I actually get to the track, I will try it out, thanks. I'm about ready to put my money down on some 6UL's and some coilovers.

Yeah, I'm mostly wondering for tracking. I don't drive too aggressive as it is, because I have spacers and I have to be careful with those.

Because the Fit is an Understeer-friendly car (due to being very nose heavy), tightening up the suspension or inflating the rear tires a little more than the fronts will actually make the car a little more neutral through the turns so 30/32 F/R will probably be a decent setup. Running higher pressure up front vs the rear will make the car understeer even more - not recommended as you want as neutral of a setup as you can get on the track.

My Recommendation would be to add a Rear Sway Bar to make the car a bit more neutral so you can keep the tires at their most optimum pressure for grip. Tires should be for grip and suspension tuning should be for balance. The cost of the RSB will pay for itself in saved tires due to proper inflation.

My daily running is 33.5f/34.5r and when I went out on Nikko I ran 32f/33.5r. I was quite pleased with the handling, but it still had a bit too much understeer on some corners of the circuit.

I went to 35 in all 4 tires, and it works well. Mileage went up a little also, but it may have been a coincidence. I noticed in my Camaro, that with nitrogen, the psi when hot only goes up a couple of pounds. every so often the local ties shops offer free nitrogen refills. The next one they do, I will have the nitrogen installed. I know a lot of people think it is snake oil, but I do know that I get VERY little pressure drop in my nitrogen tires than I did with regular air. (even though air is 78% nitrogen to begin with)

I believe that TPMS will trigger at 32 PSI. You wll get TPMS on the dash if you set 30/32 F/R.
