Windshield wiper controls?!?!

Ok so I have only had to turn my windshield wipers on once and when I did the back window wiper went on as well. I sat for at least two minutes trying to figure out how to turn on just the front but couldn't do it.

What the hell am I doing wrong?!?! I'm sure its something stupidly easy that I'm missing.

I think that when you turn on the front wiper, wether the rear one is off or on, it will wipe 2 times or something like that, and then stop.

That only happens when in reverse gear.

He is right! The issue is that both the front and rear wipers go on when the car is in reverse. I didn't realize I had slipped it into reverse and then did the wiper.

Thanks!

This is the one single thing I like the most about my FIT. All the rest I pretty much knew about, but the wiper deal. Every time I back out on a rainy morning it's a smile.

Ok, glad I found this thread...I've been searching to figure out why the rear wiper does this on both of our Fits. I can see WHY it is a good idea but sometimes I don't want the rear wiper going on it's own without me turning it on. That rear wiper makes a nice shelf for all sorts of crap to rest on....all I can envision is a big scraaaaaaaatttttcccchhhh...going across the window especially if it is not nice and wet

Mystery solved! Thanks guys!!

Don't feel too foolish for asking though. To this day if I'm in a hurry I sometimes wash my windsheild instead of putting my high beams on momentarily. Mo Mo.
