Sometimes when I shut the car off I hear a loud squeak which sounds like it's coming from right behind the driver.

Anyone else run into this?? I was wondering if it had something to do with the door locks, since it sounds like it might be coming from the rear drivers side door.

 

The door locks sometimes squeal when they're activated. When you shut off the car you're activating the auto unlock feature. Mine does this when the temps are lower (below 60 degrees).

You can disable the unlock feature (leaving them locked) or get your dealer to listen to the locks. I think someone here has gotten an actuator replaced based on the noise. Trick is to get it to do it consistently so the dealer hears it.

I figured I'd live with it. If the lock fails then it's a trip to the dealer.
