Door Locking Problems
Door Locking Problems
I have had a problems on several occasions with the automatic locks clicking like they have been engaged, could weather or atmosphere have anything to do with it? Has anyone else had this problem?
It's driving me crazy!

phantom locking
it sounds like the clicking when you use the remote to unlock. now i can't use the button on the door to lock, but the clicking sound stopped...it has done this before, and it's usually rainy. or it's my dad trying to send a smarty pants message from heaven....
It never rains in southern Californ-yaaaah...
Gidget, you need to get the dealer to have a look at that.
What happens when you try to use the lock button in damp weather? It just doesn't work at all?
You have a lock button on the arm rest next to the window buttons, and also the regular lock post up there beside the window. It is supposed to lock the other doors, too. Does either one of these work, or do they both just ignore you when the weather is damp?
Either way, you need to get it fixed, just in case it's an electrical short that might strand you, melt your wiring harness, or burn your Fit to the ground. These are not likely to happen, but hey, feces occurs.
Or, you could move to Arizona or southern California, where the weather is dry all the time.

sounds like water is getting on the wiring. it's not unusual to find water inside the doors, thus the drain holes at the bottom.
see if you can reproduce the problem while washing your car...just spray lots
of water on the driver/passenger windows and see wat happens.
then take it to the dealer and show them.

Door Locks
That's the thing about going to the dealer..It never happens when you want it to. But I will try the car wash idea, I need to do that anyway. The button you push down next to the window always works for some reason. And yes, feces happens to me a lot lately!! Thanks for the help!
