Apartment sprinkler problems

My 2009 gets parked at a carport at my apartment but EVERY single night at midnite the sprinkler goes on and drenches the front end of my car leaving it with spots in the morning. No matter how much I wash/wax/polish it, it still has the spots in the morning. I talked to the apartment manager already and she said it's just the way the sprinkler works and I'm getting a bit of splash and they apologize. I suppose I could break the thing myself but that wouldn't be very nice. Short of a car cover, any suggestions?

Maybe put a tupperware container over the sprinkler head in question and remove it when you leave in the morning?

I would suggest getting a professional detailer to get out those water marks though--and then put a good coat of wax/sealant on top. It should be *less* of a problem after that but I think the tupperware is still a good idea, haha

I'll give the tupperwear a try.
I do clay bar often. But it's EVERY night so I wanna solve the problem somehow.
Maybe I'll just accidentally trip on it and break it.

How about a shield?

Is the apartment manager against you putting up a barrier of some sort? I'm assuming you have assigned parking spots.

Cheap: plywood with some 1x2s holding it up.

Not cheap: translucent polycarbonate with a rough-ish surface facing the sprinklers so water spots don't show much. Attached to stands that are bolted to the ground (so they don't get blown away/over).

A side effect is if your parking spot gets a lot of direct sun, this will act as a shade.

OR... ask for a spot that's away from sprinklers.

Tuperware + 1 brick on top, your going to need some weight to over come the H2O pressure.

take the head off the sprinkler put a dime in it flat and screw it back on or make a shield and put it in front of the sprinker to block it

Grab a "sprinkler head adjustment key" and google for instructions. It is the right way of doing it and it's easy.

^this.

It would be soooooooooooo much easier to shield the sprinkler rather than some elaborate barrier to block your car. Tough situation either way...remembering to place and remove the tupperware/brick everynight will be hard to do.

I agree with adjusting it, that or see if you can see one of the maintenance crew out there, and talk to them.
