Just put in order for a 2011

Five to six weeks I'm told by the dealer. Blackberry Pearl Sport AT. This is replacing my 14 year old 4Runner. The ex-wife wanted an SUV ... Before that, I had a 1963 Porsche 356. Besides all the obvious criteria for selecting the FIT was the fact that I can get several garbage cans in the back. It'll be use to haul my kayak on top, too. Counting down the weeks.

Congrats--Wise choice-- one of my favorite colors for the Fit!
You will love the versatility of the storage space.
I had to wait over 4 weeks to get my 2010 in Tidewater Blue back in May... the only colors in town available in sport model were SSM & BO

Does this mean ("just put in my order") that you have already negotiated a price for the FIT? Would you mind publishing what you paid for the car. Thank you.

Nope. Just signed the paperwork for loan qualification. The dealer has put in a request for one with my requirements. They mostly get white and grey cars. I'm going through Costco and their auto buying program.

Did the dealer have specs/colors for the 2011 models? The Fit has undergone no such thing for 2 model years already, so in consistent Honda fashion, I would expect changes in color offerings and minor exterior/interior adjustments.

The dealer had squat. If Blackberry Pearl isn't available, I'm sure the dealer will let me know in six weeks when I would be expecting the car to arrive.

The colors have been pretty much the same since 2007--slight variations in shade, but nothing major.

Any news on if the 6MT is making its way onto the Sport? I'm still awaiting the brochure from Honda here to be released to see the gear ratios. I'm so hoping it is the North American final and 1st with the 2-6 of the CR-Z. I WANT, I WANT, I WANT!!! Tomorrow is the release day of the new Fit.

OP, congrats on the order/purchase. You are not losing much interior room compared to the Surf (4Runner).

No surprise there. I've been saying this since last year at least.

According to sources online, the 2011s should've arrived by "late summer", so that means they are out already. The Honda website reflects no changes at all from 2010, though they just may have not revised it yet.

Congrats on your order! I just saw a pamphlet on the Costco program and am thinking of trying it. Good to know about the timeline. I'm waiting for the 2011's to come out so I can get VSA and floormats at better price, since I don't care about the navigation.

I've seen a pic of a bright green Fit that is a hybrid, but not sure if that will be available in US since it sounds like the hybrid won't be here this year.

The new model released just today here in Japan so North America will probably start seeing them in the next few weeks.

Honda website will be updated the day the vehicle is released. I doubt it'll be updated before but they won't be behind the ball either so they'll likely release it on the same day. www.Honda.co.jp is updated with the new fit already.
