Honda launches 70-mpg Fit to take on Toyota Prius | Chicago Breaking Business

Frankly this will probably be a death-blow to any chance for aftermarket support we had. If the fit as a whole gets labeled as another 'eco-yuppie' vehicle like the prius things will only go down hill. But the hybrid civic didn't doom the civic so who knows.

 

The civic also had the other end of the spectrum... the Si to combat the economy-only stigma that might have taken over. the fit has nothing except for the RS/Sport which is not an aftermarket friendly vehicle to begin with. If they had dropped an R18 in there, I think things would be different.
