Question Need Better Hardware for Spoiler

I recently bought a rear spoiler online...its factory style, ABS plastic. The mounting hardware is terrible. It came with only two sheet metal screws and double sided mounting tape. I took it to a shop and they recommended finding a better mounting kit. They told me that it should be bolted to the hatch and not just screwed in from the top. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on a better mounting kit?
Thx!

I would hate to drill two holes in my roof for the spoiler. Are you replacing one on a Sport ? THat has the holes for bolts? If so I woul drill the spoler for the bolts.
He is a pic of mine. The two black circles is where the bolts go. The 4 bolts you see are where the stock clips would go. I am using hte bolts to tilt the spoiler.

yeah 4 screws held by the bolt with a washer in between is typically how spoilers are mounted... as long as you have the washers, they shouldn't come lose.

I just put a type S rear spoiler on. 2 screws on each side going through the bottom (you can not see mount points from the top) 2 washers and foam in between where it touches the window so theres no rattling from my bass. It's very sturdy. The stock sport spoiler had so many holes. Little over kill.

I have the base model fit and bought a non-honda made spoiler. It came with only two holes for mounting which is fine, but the small sheet metal screws don't seem like they will hold over time. I am wondering if I can use a really long drill bit to go through both the out and inside of the hatch. That way I can use better hardware and a nut on the inside to hold it more firmly. The hatch is double walled (hollow) where the holes will need to be drilled. I think this is why they sent sheet metal screws b/c you can't get to the bottom side of the screw unless you drill all the way through the hatch.

2 of my holes were located where it is flat and 2 of the holes were located inside the double wall. Easy to access by just pull the plug off my screw went from the bottom we had plenty of room to get a screw driver in their.

My spoiler only came with two screws, not four. I don't see any other way to mount it but through the only two holes that are pre-drilled and they line up over the double wall part of the hatch. I'm gonna call around some more shops...the last thing I want to do is take it to the Honda place. They said they'd charge $300 just to install it, lol.
