Manual Transmission, Hwy Mileage
Highway is any road that take you between towns, city driving is in the town and then you have Intestate. Around town speeds are below 35 and highway speeds is above 35 and then interstate 55 to 70 depending on where you live.
I am averaging 43mph with city and Interstate. I am getting 40 mpg in my civic based on 3 tanks average. Some one told me to do a 100mile average to gallons used to get more accurate numbers to driving style.

very pleased w/ my mpg going to San Diego, (308 miles) from vegas
used minimal hyper-mill
65-70mph, got 44-47mpg...I will say of all the cars I had, this FIT
is the most fuel efficient, if driven properly
I put in $35 gas (shell 91 octane) one way straight to San Diego and still got 3/16 gas left !!!
then went to the wedding w/ AC on (8 miles) go back to house (8 miles)
went to restaurant ( 10 Miles ) - back to house (10 miles)
Over all I got approximately 400 miles for a full tank
- back seat delete
- 1 passenger (wife)
- DID not use A/C
going to san diego, CA, VERY PLEASED !!!

...it rained the other day , that's why the weather wasn't that HOT on that day, still hot, but tolerable
San Diego = Beach = Very Nice
I'm having a problem with my mpg gauge. When I first started driving the car (bought it used at 56k miles, now at 58k), the gauge was within just a few percent of the actual mileage, but since I started roadtripping two days ago, the gauge has been consistently exaggerating my mileage by exactly 6mpg.
Not that I'm getting terrible mileage. By hanging around 60mph and not accelerating too sharply, I'm able to obtain 38+ mpg, and it's no surprise that going 80 the entire time nets me around 33mpg. It's just annoying that I have to shoot for 45mpg on the gauge to realistically obtain 39.
Any ideas as to what's been causing this?
Aside from that, the car has been running incredibly and I've had no problems whatsoever. Absolutely loving my recent purchase!

Haha ya man not to pull out the bs flag but 55 mpg? It's basic science you need this much air and fuel to make this much power to move your car that weighs x amount this speed....
With my 2008 Fit Base I use to get mid 40's in the summer and high 30's low 40's in the winter.
I just trade in the 08 Fit for a 2013 Fit Base in April
here are my last four fillup calculations, with the 2013 Fit Base M/T
45.3 mpg reader 45.112462 hand cal.
45.6 mpg reader 42.096055 hand cal.
45.3 mpg reader 45.647455 hand cal.
46.0 mpg reader 44.626762 hand cal.
The slightly hilly country roads here in Maine I drive are posted 45 and 55.
I drive like a senior citizen, slow acceleration, and slow gearing down decceleration.
I use to get similiar mpg results in a 1999 Honda Civic too.
With the same old fart driving style.

Today I drove 105 miles. 70% was on freeway at 65 mph, and the rest around town. 6 stops and drives thru parking lots. A/C on 20% of the time.
It was all done in the rain. Heavy rain 40% of the time and high winds 80% of the time (15 - 30+ mph) Averaged 35 mpg. 2013 Fit Base m/t.
I found out she gets blown around in high winds on the freeway!

when I go over the bridges here I open both driver and passenger windows 1/4 of the way to lessen the sailboat effect when there's a strong crosswind coming off the bay. The guardrails block the rest of the wind.
The dashboard display says 42.6 mpg with 120.4 miles on the trip odo and 181 miles on the odo.
I have not filled up the tank. I have not checked odo accuracy. I DID reset the trip odo to get rid of the mileage from the test drives.
I have been on a few 55mph roads but not much yet. I happen to live where the traffic is pretty calm. I like driving this thing at 47 to 50 where the engine isn't lugging in 5th. Speed downhill may be higher so I can store energy as momentum.
