'09 Fit Sport Camber Kit Necessary?
'09 Fit Sport Camber Kit Necessary?
I just ordered the Swift Sport Springs (4H021) for my '09 Fit, and still haven't found a clear, definitive answer about camber kits. This is the first move I've made away from stock, so it's only the springs for now. No new struts yet.
The drop on these springs is around -1.2" front and -1.0" rear. Since that's not an extreme drop, is there still enough adjustment range where there won't be any problems setting the alignment? I've found front and rear camber kits for earlier Fit models, but only front kits for the '09. Is there enough adjustment range with only a -1.2" front drop where the kit isn't necessary?
Digging deeper into these forums, I'm also under the impression that the rear is different on the GE8, and doesn't require a camber kit. True?
Are there any absolute answers for my questions, or is it just personal preference?

No camber kit is necessary. I have a bigger drop than you (Tanabe DF's) and all my tires are wearing evenly. Just get an alignment after you lower it.
Also you are correct the rear can not be aligned. There are camber bolts available but I've only seen people who have bigger rims/tires that want it to tuck need them.

Hey Jim...I replied on the other thread but in my experience the answer is no, you don't need a camber kit.
I dropped mine, drove about 100 miles and then had it aligned. I was within specs on 3/4 corners with the 4th being off just slightly and in the rear. I get alignments every 5k as my tire shop offers unlimited rotations for free if you buy tires from them.

Well honestly with ur drop , I wouldn't worry about it! After dropping 1.5 or more then I would def suggest a camber kit ! I did just cause I was anal about it with the tein stech springs ! But I ended up with coils now and I def kept the camber bolt cause I'm much lower now ! But as for the rear ! There's no camber adjustment ! As I was told when I put my coils with my mechanic buddy ! Now from my u derstandment , the buddy clubs come with camber adjustment for the rear , but I don't have buddy clubs so I don't know. Hope this info is good for ur comfort decision
Thank guys. I just wanted to make sure. I was pretty confident that the Swift springs would be close enough to the stock suspension limits where the camber kit would be unnecessary. Can't wait to get the springs. Ordered them last night about 9pm and then couldn't fall asleep! I kept running the installation process through my head! hahaha
i agree with the above. no need for camber.
an alignment is recommended. that really isn't necessary either.
only if your car pulls after the drop get one. remember the only
thing to align on this car is front toe.
I lowered my car over a year ago and still have no problems. and
i didn't even get an alignment. just my .02 cents
