Very odd sound from my car

I hear this weird metal clanking sound, kind of like a can or something stuck somewhere

i looked under briefly last night and didnt see anything

i'll jack it up this weekend and look again

it's not consistent, it only happens sometimes

it sounds like something got stuck under there somewhere

has anyone else experienced this?

Is it in the front? Metal can sounds like detonation to me. You said it does it sometimes and only when driving slow, so it depends on the load on engine.

Doubtful, since he's saying "clank" and you're saying "slosh."

Last I time I heard a clanking was on the Pathfinder when a little stabilizer link popped out of it's upper mount.

Check again, maybe it's something where you quite can't see... if not, maybe something got into the body of the car.

BTW, do you have body plugs installed on your Fit (they cover up holes used when transporting on the car carriers to the dealerships). Maybe something managed to get in one of those holes.

Well, the holes that the body plugs cover are actually the spaces between sheet metal that is part of the car's chassis. think of the chassis as fancifully shaped tubing.

Get a hammer, cover up the head with something soft (but not too thick)... and tap around the car.
