performance struts?

I know I can get springs, but are there any brands anyone can recommend for struts? My GE8 is gettting up there so I need to replace the OEM ones soon and feel they are a bit too weak especially when carrying some weight.

I drive alot in NYC on wack-@ss roads so please recommend strong ones...I would also like to get recommendation on springs (not lowering, just need it to be stronger). Thanks

Other than the more expensive Mugen/Showa struts and Coilovers, you don't have any choices. Koni/Tokico/KYB haven't released any for the GE8...yet.

I've been in the market for performance struts as well. Im getting ready to lower my car and would like something in the lines of Tokico Illumina series. But it doesnt look like they're available for the GE.

I've read somewhere in the GE suspension forum that you can use GD shocks?

Not sure about the fronts, but I think that's not true for the rears. I think the bushing size is different such that the shock has some play and eventually begins wearing away the mounting bolt. At least that's what I recall when someone tried to use the Monroe air shock that fits the GD on a GE.

@Roadent - unless you have a part number, I don't believe Bilstein makes a stand-alone shock...they only make the PSS coilover system which is a spring and damper combo. Many choices when it comes to coilovers for the GE, but the OP was asking about struts/shocks alone.
