Problem with Ipod and AUX Port

I have had my 2009 Honda Fit for 2 years now and love it! I installed my sat. radio and have my ipod via aux port in the glove box. For 2 years i have used my ipod with no problem but all of a sudden when i hit the switch for aux i get no sound at all. The ipod plays when its disconnected and displays normally when plugged in but i am getting no sound. I can go through the sound via the radio and do everything as normal......PLEASE HELP!!

I would try a new IPod cord. Eliminate the obvious solutions first!

Have you tried restarting the ipod?

Is there another way to reset besides the obvious power off and on? I thought it may be the cord but was hoping it would be someelse before spending money on a cord that may or may not work.

Is it an iPod Touch that you recently updated to iOS 4? There are several threads here reporting that those have gone kinda wonky and to use the aux input as a work-around.

FWIW, most people have reported that a hard reboot of the ipod solved the problem when that was the cause.

Buying a new cord doesn't mean you can't return it if it doesn't help.

Did you by any chance just recently install the sat radio? Is it plugged in to the aux port on the radio? If it is, I don't think that the radio can switch between 2 "Aux" sources via the button.

True... But I'd recommend other less wasteful options if possible. This era of returning anything at almost any time isn't right, even though big box stores like evil-mart say it's ok. It is convenient and in My opinion ok if an unopened gift needs to be returned/exchanged but shouldn't be used in situations like this (for testing purposes).

If you carefully remove it from the package so that it can be easily resold,I have no problem with that. I do not try to intentionally screw the retailer. These types of packages can be easily returned unscathed.
