Ray's SSM GE8 Base/Sport Progress
Nevermind... Took a closer look, I think it says 150LB...?
I don't think they're parallel, they look like they have slight angle. But I think angle is less than the angle mentioned in your previous post (it said something about having them intersect 40-60 mm off the ground).

Is it me, or does that say "Swift"?

As far as the LCA's go they look parallel. No actual measurements made. The car definitely handles MUCH better IMHO.
On a side note I have been putting off the rear view mirror cover until I get the ones for the side mirrors! Color matched sport mirror covers...
Hey, when did thread show up?
The Base is looking good man!
Nah Ray, keep the Base mirror covers. Those and the factory black headlight housings are two thing that I really dug on your Fit.
Also, earlier in the thread you mentioned something about being surprised for not rubbing. Excluding the wheel offset, I think that is due to you having a shorter tire (205/40R17 if I recall) than what would be typically ran on a 17 (which is 205/45R17).
The Base is looking good man! Thanks! Still working on $$$ to get those Mugen sides. Life keeps happening. Life emergencies keep depleting my cash flow! Why is the Mugen kit so much $$$! lol Come on tax refund!

I was more concerned about the inner fenders or other clearance issues. Same size wheel/tire combo on a 95 DelSol rubbed on turns all the time! Inner fender turning either way. No hard turns with that car...
I had no idea how it was going to turn out and when I lowered it I was concerned again. I tested lock to lock turns and hard turns at varied speeds and verified no rubbing. The thing about the tire size is that even after the springs I still have a bit of a gap between tire and fender opening. Overall I'm happy with the springs! Looking at test fitting some 18's. I won't be buying wheels till the Mugen kit is on. I gotta watch how much $ I spend at a time...-Ray
one thing i've thought about, running no side trim but having splashgaurds painted to color match, im assuming the body shop could use some plasticizers or similar to get it to stick. the mugen sides are kinda neat but i do like the look without them too.
Seems like its been forever...
Wow it seems like forever since I got to do anything to the Fit. Too much work I guess. Well, I got some new tires today Falken Ziex ZE-512 ! Tomorrow off for alignment. I was a little disappointed to find out the wheels couldn't be touched up while the Fit was at the shop. He didn't have the right color to match.
Oh well that's just less money to spend I guess. Found out my wheels are 28 lbs each! HOLY $#*%! I found out that if I decide to track the car I will switch to 16" Drag DR-9's they weigh 16 lbs each and I can get some good track tires on 16's but that's next year. Right at a grand for mount and balance is not too bad for inexpensive lightweight wheels and tires!

If youre looking for dedicated track wheels...then why not get 15" wheels? You'll get better acceleration (the lower diameter is equivalent to increasing the final drive), lighter weight, and a much better tire selection (and wheel selection).
16" is an odd size for track duty.
16" is an odd size for track duty.
The main difference was tire choices. There was a 2 lb difference with the DR-9 15" to 16" according to there computer and no track worthy tires in the "correct" size for the 15" rim. I know I don't have to stay with the same overall size tire. Maybe you could throw some tire ideas at me for the 15" rim. I'm not against it, just was advised to go to 16" for tire choices. Going from 28 lbs to 16 lbs per wheel would make a huge difference for me. I plan on doing both wheels/tires and coil-overs next year. No extreme modifications IE engine or extreme weight reduction until warranty is expired.
Here is a link to the wheel I'm looking at.

The extra 2 lbs weight reduction (unsprung weight) per corner going from 16" to 15" would be HUGE!!! Going with a 15" tire would also reduce weight an additional 1-3 lbs over a 16" tire (depending on size, specs, and manufacturer).
If this is strictly for auto-x, grip trumps all other considerations. My car accelerates very quickly (relative to other Fits
)due to the lightweight wheels and smaller overall diameter...however, the top end lags and this would not be an ideal set up for a high speed track. If that will be your primary use, a 17" wheel would be a better choice. And, you have to be kidding me that you can't find track tires for 15" wheels?!? Ask in the track/auto-x subforum. I'm sure they could give you some better info. You could also search tirerack.com and read their extensive tire reviews. Dunlop direzza star specs always come up at the top of a short list of outstanding auto-x tires. Hankook has a new lineup (ventus) that has also gotten some great reviews.
Good luck. Car is coming along nicely.
Here are some I like 16" tires lighter than 15"

wouldn't your base steelies work well for track day?
my fit is in the same config yours is right now after i took my mugen sides off. i like the mugen stuff but the mugen sides with the sport front is bugging me and i know if i put the mugen front on it won't be long until i buy the rear, grill, and rearview cover ... and i'm not sure i want to do that.
i have a few ideas for mounting the sport sides on a base and hopefully someone will trade + cash for my mugen sides. if you can wait i might have a mounting solution for the sport sides on a base....

couple of things that bug me about the mugen stuff:
1) the sides tape to the front fender also, it would be tough to remove the fender without removing the sides and all it's adhesive. as i found out with removing the sides, replacing the 3m tape is a PITA.
2) how the front entraps the fog lights, crack a fog and you have to pull the fog light out the hard way through the engine bay.
3) what happens in 3-4 years when your in a fender bender and need to get replacement mugen parts, will they be available?
4) clearance
5) say i want to keep the car 5+ years, will the mugen adhesive and mounting methods hold up?
don't get me wrong, there is still a decent chance i will end up full mugen just some of the details bug me a little. i mainly took the sides off because i wanted to see what the car looked like with a sport bumper and rear spoiler and no sides ... and honestly i think it looks pretty good but it still bugs me a little. i think full sport or full mugen are the ways to go....

I agree... Waiting on cash for Mugen sides. Then front, grill, and back. I might wait till I have all the parts before I mount stuff...

passing the base to mugen torch to you, just sold off my stuff and finished with the sport sides. you might check out pattypeck on ebay or call pat in person for the best prices i've found on mugen parts. look forward to pics!
Well had a little mishap the other day...

I went to look at the 2011 Fit for 0.9 APR and to check if I'm on the recall list and apparently overextended the rear suspension along the way there. I have always wondered if this could happen with just lowering springs but I have never had this happen on any other lowered car. Yes I was hauling ass and yes I went over an unexpected large bump but I didn't notice it till I walked away from the car. Jacked it up and put the spring back in place. Man I need coil-overs!
Here are a few pics next to a new 2011 sport.
