Ebay... Took my chances. I didn't want to deal with all the BS that's involved with the OEM... (IE clips to the glass) I went with a domestic supplier instead of overseas. It seemed more reliable that way. Same price...

Thanks!

@ 2fstfru Yeah it was a first for me... lol

@ FittedOnEm yes... yes they are... and 15's are great for a track setup but if I want to close that gap I'm gonna have to go bigger! So I will likely daily the 17's and track/occasional use the 15's...

But the tires on the 15s are over an inch and a half in diameter smaller than stock (22.4 inches).

Have you tried getting some bigger tires for those wheels?

195/55/15 would be a bit over 1/2 in smaller than stock

195/60/15 would be about 1/4 in larger than stock.

Well, I don't know yet on tires for the rims. The ones on the rims seem to be in good condition. I will keep them till I find a suitable track tire and will take into consideration the overall size at that point For now it's just fun to be this low and not rub or scrape anywhere! (until the 17's are back on... rub rub rub...)

Just wanted to share a little bit of mine.
I want to say thanks to Ray for this thread, it helps me a lot when I was doing the conversion. It was a base model and converted to sport.
By the way, how did you do the JDM tail light exchange? I wonder if they have the JDM tail light that look just like the stock but with no red reflectors.

Hey The Fit looks nice! The tails I got were a swap with a member in Thailand. It seems there are several variations of the JDM style including the RS LED tails but I have not seen any that "look" like USDM (US Direct Market) tail lights. All I paid for mine was the shipping back to Thailand.

I hope that helps!

It's been WAY TOO LONG!!!

All I can say is WOW! I cannot believe how long it's been since I've been on here! Or even done anything to the Fit! I got a new job back in October and it involves travel... A LOT of TRAVEL... Some I get to drive, but most I fly for. I did however get my Mugen Front Spoiler!!! I test fit it but did not have the time to install before I had to leave again. Don't get me wrong I really like the job and in today's economy it's nice to at least have one! Here is a pic of my test fit!

Nice progress Ray. Are you getting anything for the lower grill? I kind of like the look without the grill, but I'd be concerned about rocks flying in there.

Yeah I've considered several options and well... I've been LUCKY! I now have over 35K miles and no issues... I want to do a lower DIY but I am trying to decide on the material. There is a good one in the DIY section but would like to see it in person...

Thanks! I was "lurking" on the civic site not long ago and wow your civic is coming along nice! The amount of work you've done is inspiring! All I really have left now on the Fit is a better wheel/tire combo for DD. Since the car isn't a "race car" I am going the Fitment route. I still haven't found what platform I'm going to use for a fun faster car but I'm in no hurry. I want to make sure I get the right one. There are so many great platforms to start with and I may even go outside of the Honda world Keep up the GREAT WORK on your Civic and if you have any suggestions on wheel/tire combos please share!

Rear wing

Well it's official... The double-sided 3M lasted just over one year. I really should have fully committed to it since I now have the Mugen Front and Sides it looks weird without it. I am putting it back on with the minor damage until I get the replacement. I have to find where I ordered it from on Ebay so I can get the same one! Then I really need to drill the holes and bolt it on... Or just plan on spending the $75 a year!

I should be doing some maintenance in the near future which will involve strip down of my coilovers and removing the adjustment collars to get as low as possible. Need MOAR LOW! LOL! Looking at some 16" wheel/tire setups and I don't want any fender gap.

All the way down on 15's... GAP

May be time to say good bye...

Well I appreciate my new job, but I don't have anytime to work on anything and never get to drive it or go to car meets. I can not see paying a car note on a car I don't drive anymore. I will miss the Fit. If I cannot get what I want for it, I will keep it and just put stuff on it as I can. I plan to list it here in the appropriate section and on Craigslist. I will be selling it either way modded or completely stock. If I sell it stock I will be selling the parts here in the appropriate section on the forum and Craigslist. I will still lurk here from time to time.

It helps that my Fit is my only car. It's my work-weekend-road trip-track car. Though that track bit, might be a one time thing at this rate.

Aw dude, your GE was really starting to make some great progress. If you do sell stock, I know someone who may be interested in your Mugen lip and I call dibs on the SprintHarts.

You got it on the wheels. Carmax will most likely be getting it as a base model. The only thing I won't keep is the keyless. The key is programmed to the car but they won't pay for the add. I will sell everything separate in that case. I just figured I'd give it a week to see if anyone wants a modded GE8. If you know someone that's looking for a GE8, remember the price is negotiable no reasonable offer refused. I'd like to sell it complete so I don't have to change it back! I'll give it a week and the start contacting via PM those interested in the parts!

-Ray

Ps The Mugen Front was only test fit never mounted. BNIB!

Good bye my SSMGE8

Well it has been a fun two years. I am sad to see my Fit go. I just never ever ever drive anymore and never have time to work on it. I hope Paul enjoys the Fit! Too bad he lives on the other side of town. I may never see it. Maybe when life slows down I'll get another... maybe...

I'll still lurk here and PM's go to my email if anyone has any questions about anything I did on the Fit.
