Holla amigos! It's been a while since I rapped at 'ya. I don't normally check in here because I don't think about my fit much. I don't mod it or do much else to it. I've probably washed it 4 times all year. Basically, I just get in, turn the key and drive. Oh yeah, I fill it with gas from time to time. But it's been a year almost to the day since I picked up my TW, MT Sport Fit, I thought I'd write a short update.
Drove it about 250 miles to visit family yesterday and I was thinking how happy I am with this car. It's been reliable, economical and fun! I'd buy this car again all day, every day.
Mileage: I'm getting 40mpg average! Yes, you read that right. I keep track of every fill up in gallons and I divide based on the total miles so that is an accurate number. With a couple of gallons left in the tank after yesterday's drive, my math says 39.8. True, I drive mostly highway and roads without much stop and go but come on! That's hella good mileage for any type of driving.
Driving: I still haven't tired of revving that little engine up to 5k+ RPMs every single chance I get...and taking the corners as hard as I can...and working that smooth clutch and shifter. And when I'm on the open highway, I cruise at 80 and the car is rock solid. When the highway gets tight and lanes twist due to construction, I'm happy to have a car that holds its line and does not wander. And the fit is great in that way. Around town, I'm always looking for some tight spot I can get into to see how the fit will get me out of it. In just about any situation, I'm just one good turn of the wheel away from being on my way.
So anyway, that's really about all. I just thought I'd let you guys and gals on the fence know that I can't imagine you being disappointed if you choose a fit.

I am only wondering, if you like it so much, why do you abuse it?
I certainly don't abuse my fit. I guess I made it sound like I'm driving around town revving the engine at stop lights like a drunk or something but that's not the case. That said, I do enjoy the situations where the engine needs to be revved to produce power and Hondas are just fine with that.
truth. 5K revs isn't abuse for Hondas that are maintained properly

I've revved the piss out of my last two Honda's and got over 120k on the stock clutch on both (B and K series). Both are still running perfectly and are over or near 200k.
