Had my new fit for 5 days now...

And I love it. taffeta white fit sport auto. My friends kinda dog me for buying a fit but what ya gonna do. I was at 32mpg with a 50/50 mix driving but it got about 20 degrees colder (in the 20's) and i lost a couple mpg already. but not bad for a first tank. I really wanted to wait for a fit hybrid but doesnt look like they are coming over.

My gripes. Well it kinda hurts my leg to hold the gas. I def need to upgrade the stereo. and a buzzing noise which i narrowed down to the front plastic piece on the outside of the windshield. trans is also a little jerky 1-2 if your really trying to accelerate slowly. It likes a little rpm.

But when it comes down to it I love the car. Its replacing a 97 civic and I love that car for its simplicity. This fit is basically the same car just 13 years newer. Im glad they made a honda like this.

take care,

Erik

Do a search for the gas pedal mod. Basically added a return spring which helps a lot. I had same problem. Sorry I do not have the link.

Try the Gas pedal Mod suggested above. also, A few other suggestions; a copuple of washers under the front seats posts like CrimsonKardinal added or simply fooling around with the adjustement of the seat (further back so your legs are flatter and pull out the steering wheel towards you) might help. I was uncomfortable until I slid the seat back a few notches, sat a little more upright, and then dropped down & Pulled the steering wheel closer. I'm comfy at this point but may still do the washer mod for additional comfort.

Welcome to the forum. My wife had a 98 Civic that she misses. (I still miss my GS-R too)

Thanks for the response's guys. i think most of the leg problem may be the lack of support under my knee/lower thigh area. The spring is def a good idea. but i may try a wedge or something to sit on.

Thanks Douche. I wasnt asking questions just stating my experience with the car. The others were just nice enough to comment.

Lyon seems cranky tonight....

He does bring up a good sidenote however. In general there is lots of great info on this site so spend some time reading/searching/etc... It's an oddly laid out site but if you hunt, you'll usually find what you are looking for.

As for the seats... give yourself some time in a few different seating positions. I found a more straight-legged (seat further back) position the most comfortable for daily driving. I do see washers under the front seats in my future though as I don't like sitting straight-legged for extended periods of time.

Yes there are times to search, but the forum is for discussion. I think that his post started a discussion that benefited many people, including some who did not post. Sometimes there are situations where it is obvious that a search was in order, but I feel that these are the exception. I learn alot from reading all of the posts and interaction here. Coming from 6 years of BMW and BMW forums,I have gotten spoiled with these forums. I used to see an awful lot of "RTFM" posts, and frankly they frustrated me. I'm glad to be here and hope to help as I get more familiar with my new 201 Fit Sport Auto.

While you may be right, I hope you realize that such name calling is also against forum rules. Welcome to the forums though.

Had my Base AT for a week now to and I really don't have any complaints. Then again I was replacing a 1985 Accord hatch!

Thanks Cherk. I'd been a Fit admirer for several months and had to wait until my Accord blew up. Then I had to convince my smokin' hot wife that the Fit was the way to go. The 0.9 rate on new Fit's took care of that problem! I'm a whore for Honda so I'm glad to be here.

congrats on the new Fit! I got my SSM A/T Fit Sport about 2 weeks ago and share you same enthusiasm. Do you plan on modding?

Hey guys,

No modding. Well for "speed" anyway. Would like to re-do the sound system with a dvd head unit and get a light tint all around. Other than that Im real happy with the car. The headlights are some of the best I have had in a car. The high beams are great.

Haha sorry about that. I had a cheap $4 bottle of champaign that night. Not really sure what I meant. I guess I was thinking you should have searched and seen that this forum is already crowded with a million "just bought a fit reviews" threads or something like that. Anyway sorry to take it out on you. I guess I was just disappointed to check this part of the forum only to see its still the same.

This is the attitude of 95% of the forum. You'll get along just fine. Again, sorry for taking it out on you.
