Smelled burnt motor oil odor thru my air vent

After prolong climbs on steep hills, I could sometimes smell, I am guessing, burnt motor oil thru my air vent in my 5 months old FIT sports A/T. I have been smelling this on and off since day one. Brought to the dealership mechanic who did a test drive up a hill, check engine and could not find anything wrong and could not smell anything at that time.

Is it normal for most car engines to emit some odor of burnt motor oil straight after working very hard up on climbing some steeper hills? The smell will dissipate quite quickly after that

After climbing some particular steeper hills, I also smelled the same from my previous honda accord immediately after the climb and after I parked and got out of the accord and walked near the engine but not thru the air vent.

What do you all think? Have you ever experienced what I experience?

Thanks

If you smell oil, then it must be oil. some oil leaks are very slow that its hard to spot.

I usually smell it after an extended highway drive or when I gun it to merge onto oncoming traffic. I check the oil every couple of weeks and the amount burnt looks to be very little. Some oil burning is inevitable, especially on these high reving 4 bangers but i wouldnt worry about it unless you start see clouds of blue smoke out your tail pipe and your having to add ridiculous amounts of make up oil.

did you underoil the car? if so it could just be that the engine gets hot enough to burn the overspray from the underoiling after a hill climb. We had a similar problem in our van a year ago and that's what it was.

I don't think 'some oil burning is inevitable' as I've had two 4 cyl cars- Acura Integra and Infiniti G-20, and in 100,000+ on each I've never needed to add oil. (and yes, I checked it regularly)

My car had a "new engine" smell fresh from the factory when it got hot. It eventually went away, I'm guessing some rustproofing/machining type oil was put on some engine parts and it was burning off. If that's the case, it should go away.
