Oil Life Monitor Increments of 10?

I finally got to take a trip of some distance and have gotten the odometer to about 1400 miles now. I noticed that the oil life monitor went from 100% to 90 then 80. Is this the progression, or will it change as the numbers drop?

It counts down, never will go back up unless reset back to 100%

Was referring to it going down by 10% at a time,as opposed to say 5% or some other odd number.

noob question: after an oil change, do you reset the oil monitor on the odo or does it do it by itself?

It needs to be reset - procedure is in the owners manual.

OH, the progression does change.

For most of it, it drops by 10. But when it gets to 30 (i think it was) percent, it changes to 5% drop till it hits ZERO.

How else would it hit 15%?

After that, it counts "up" into the negative numbers, but in miles instead.

I think it begins to drop by 5 once it hits 20. i've seen30 & 20 twice but never 25 after that it decreases by 5%.

I wasn't sure if it was 20 or 30 (got my only oil change in Oct). I figured 20 was too close to the recommended 15%. c'est la vie.
