Can you disconnect Electric Power Steering?
I have to diagnose something, so I was wondering if anyone knows if it's easy to disconnect the EPS and be left with non-assisted steering.
Anyone?
Anyone?

OK, I just took a couple photos, but it's freezing outside so pardon the blurry pics. There's a clear cover over the fuses that seems difficult to remove as well. I removed the nuts next to the fuses but it was difficult/impossible to lift the connectors from the posts.

just took a look outside.
I was unable too disconnect the fuses 7a and 20a, however, it looks as if you need to take out either the right most nut holding down the white wire or disconnect the holder of those nuts located on the negative terminal.
once that is off, you should have clear access on the bottom of the plastic cover. the plastic cover has 3 little hooks in place holding the cover in. 1 on top, 1 facing the front of the car and the last directly under the top hook on the bottom side.
if you have a small standard screwdriver, you should be able to wedge it in to get the front side hook off.
i'd try that right most nut first.
not sure how much help, but i tried.
which fuse is the EPS? 7a or 20a ?

The EPS is actually #70A. It's the inboard one.

sorry, couldn't read the number clearly.
upon further tinkering, it would be best to take that whole row off the ground batt terminal.
I was able to poke the bottom cover off the hook, by prying the top hook off, the last hook facing front is the problem. once you have that off, then you should have access to the fuse...
UNLESS it was made so both fuses is one big fuse and can be disconnected by the right most nut.
