Routing wires from the engine bay to fuse box area.

Can someone explain how to route wires from behind the dashboard or fuse box area to the inside of the engine area?

I'm planning on tapping my led angel eye relay into the ignition switch wire.

Thanks

This is how I did mine for my grill lights. At the door pillar they go through with the existing wiring. I used coathanger to snake them through. Give me a shout Connor if you need any more info. I just went out inthe cold to take these pics

Thanks bill, that's makes perfect sense. I didn't know you could sneak stuff behind the fender like that.

I saw this on here that someone did for something else. Just make sure the wire is tied to the hinge so that is does not rub.

Oh - your welcome.

OR you can route the wires out through the space around the big rubber grommet that encloses the A/C hoses if you want to keep them inside.

Could you elaborate on where exactly I'd find that from the inside?

C, have a look at the HVAC in the shop manual. There seems to be 2 or 3 grommets you might be able to use IF you can access them from inside.

Look in the engine bay and locate the large black hoses hooked up to the compressor. Look at the cowl area where they go through the firewall and extrapolate where they come out inside and take a look.

Use the old tape the wires to a straightened coat hanger slip it through the grommet and pull the wire in too.

Gotcha. That way is probably the most direct but also seems harder than bills way.

Naw it's easy. Start from the inside once you find the grommet. Straighten out a coat hanger and tape the wire you want to run to one end of the coat hanger. Insert the free end of the coat hanger along the A/C pipe so it passes through the rubber grommet.

Have a helper watching from the outside and grab the end of the coat hanger and while they pull the hanger out into the engine bay you guide the back end with the wire attached right until it goes out. attach it where you want. Probably takes less time than it took to write this.

There is a very large rubber grommet, right above the brake pedal near the steering column, that all of the wires go through. I was able to route all of my AEM FIC wires through this grommet, and the vacuum line, so I could mount it under the dash. There is plenty of extra room.
