Yep! That just happened!

After a ton of research i finally went in today and ordered a 2011 Fit Sport in Milano Red with a third pedal. Its on a boat and will be here April 15th...it doesnt even have a vin yet.

The boat left Japan the day before the earthquake and this is the last manual transmission Fit that this dealership will see until further notice.....they have one shipment coming in by next friday with 4 fits and April 15th will be the next and mine is the only manual.

Contrary to my beliefs they didnt hike the price and i still got an awesome deal but if anyone is on the fence about purchasing one DO IT NOW. With gas prices rising and supply down my guess is that a deal like mine will be hard to come by.....BTW OTD was $17500 +/-.

Congrats! Picked mine up on Friday.

Agreed on the fence thing... supplies at the dealer lots will be dwindling as more folks pick them up.

Update from Honda on the situation... which seems
hopeful...

EVERY vehicle has a VIN by the time it leaves the factory. Afterall, its mounted UNDER the front windshield.

Congrats on the car, hope you get it by the date you were promised. Good luck.

The dealer may not have it, is all that it is.

Yeah my mind actually just exploded when I read that it didn't have VIN yet, it has a vin, the dealer just doesn't have all the info yet. It was the same when I bought mine.

Unhappy Not as hopeful here...

. Honda has announced that it will temporarily stop taking orders for the Honda Fit, Civic Hybrid, Insight and the Acura TSX, TSX Wagon and RL
TrueCar.com, which tracks new car sales prices, says that prices for models built in Japan have already started to rise. The Honda Fit, Insight and CR-V, as well as the Toyota Yaris and Prius are selling for five to ten percent more than they were before the earthquake as dealers try to use higher prices to manage their inventory.

I have no doubt some dealers are raising the prices; however, that was not my experience when I purchased mine on Friday... granted they had plenty in stock but only one Silver model and gave me a deal on it.

Do you include tax/title/license in the OTD? That's only really comparable within your state, since each state has its only Heinz 57 Flavor. Thumbs-up on getting the manual - I'm so glad to be back in one.

Very nice. I wish Cali did that. There's no tax credit on the trade-in. Even if you trade in a car, you still pay the full tax. I paid over $1500 in sales tax trading the Fit for the tC.

When my customers ask me, what's an expensive car on insurance, my answer is always the same "a Scion tC" Collision coverage on a tC runs 2.2-2.5 times higher than average, accident rates are INSANE with the tC. However this is a new model redesign, so the insurance companies will give it average rates for the first model year until we have data from it. Then a year from now when we go in and check the accident rates and see that they are drastically higher than average just like the last gen, the vehicle rating factor will be adjusted and the rates will get raped. Young kids love to buy these cars, rice them up (or not because riced or not these kids can't drive), and crash them which drives up the rates for everyone that owns them. I remember being told that the average tC driver is 22 years old. In comparision I would expect a bmw 3 series (a suprisingly cheap car to insure) to run for about $200-$300 CHEAPER every 6 months.

If it is like my GD3 just search for removing the center console. That should give you access to the underside of the shift boot. Glad you bought the "man pedal" you won't regret it.

Edit: Ahh hell I did it for you https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...t-install.html

The emblems are an awesome addition IMO, also I'd recommend a short shifter.

I love it!! It's the ideal car for my needs. I loved my Fit but I just needed a little more power.
