I just put 40.1 litres in today (10.6 US gallons), this was my first fill up in my new to me 09 fit. Yikes I wonder how close I was to running out of gas. I clicked the pump twice filling up.

Dang, I wish I could remember how much I put in last time I drove it way down. I went all the way home from work, 32 or 33 miles, with the light on. (I usually get around 38 mpg)

I have put over 13 gallons in my Fit on many occasions... !3.8 on a couple of fill ups at stations with drive ways that were sloped away from the filler tube... The front being dropped more than the rear from Swift springs allows me to put more fuel in than when on stock springs.

The most I've hit was 11.031. I usually push it though. I think the most I've gone was about 360 mi between fill ups

That's not way down. The light goes on with 1.6 gal left so you had about 3/4 of a gallon left in the tank itself let alone in the lines etc. Probably could have gone another 30-40 miles before running out of gas.

RUNNING OUT OF GAS, or running low on gas is a SURE WAY to kill the fuel pump..

It's submerged in gasoline which cools and lubricates it. When it's running in the air, it overheats and wears itself out.

Geez, I guess I could have gone at least another 20 miles or more!

for those filling more than 13... is it constant at different gas stations?

calibration may be off ? ?

can the filler neck actually hold 2.5 gallons extra?
