Shifting troubles on a AT '10 Fit

I have an automatic '10 Fit, 27,000 mi. Two weeks ago, I had my car serviced for a recall on the VTech system that had the potential to make my car stall out and not be able to restart. Since then, I have felt like my car was shifting more choppily and yesterday, when I got on the highway and accelerated to 60 mph, my transmission seemed to be stuck at 5 rpm, when it generally sits around 3 at that high speed. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced problems like this before. Thanks.

You were in 3rd gear instead of 5th.

Yep, that sounds like you were in 3rd gear.

If you were in fact in 5th gear, the only other explanation would be a slipping clutch.

Take it for a ride on the highway again, and check to see if it happens.

I've always driven an automatic and I honestly don't know much about the different gears. But I do know that the rmp dial was at 5, not 2 or 3 like normal.

Not to be rude but if you don't know what gear you're in, it may time for an auto.

You've always driven an auto, but your topic title says your talking about a manual.

Did you just recently switch to a manual? Well, even if that were the case, if you made to third gear, you should've been able to just continue past it.

However, on the off chance you're still driving an auto, in "manual mode" AKA, S mode. The S mode will auto shift in the beginning (up to 3rd)... But leave the rest to you.

If you don't like that mode, stick to D mode.

Sorry, thanks, fixed the details, don't know how that happened. I drive an automatic Fit.
