One year, 11,000 miles, no problems

The fit is now a year in service and 11,000 miles with ZERO issues. Mine was not subject to the lost motion spring recall. One oil change and tire rotation, my me, is all that its needed other than gas and a wash now and then. I'll post the average mpg's for the year over at the ECO-Fit discussion once i get it calculated. It looks like depreciation is zero or even negative from what I have been reading here.

The Depreciation issue is really a temporary effect, due to special earthquake circumstances.
You currently can't get a replacement car at the same price you paid for it, so your depreciation calculations are not really valid.

Regardless, even during normal times, depreciation isn't an issue when you're dealing with relatively inexpensive car, just like there isn't much bargaining room on price either. If you had a $60,000 car there's money to wiggle around with; there's not too much wiggle room in a $15-$20k car.

Either way, sounds like you're happy with the car!

Cool... a happy owner.

Its so refreshing from the "Whats wrong with your Fit" thread.

I've had mine maybe a couple of months now with about 1260 miles and 80% on the MM. For the kind of driving I do this car is ideal.

Even after 2 months I am still adjusting to this car... and getting it set to work with me.

Current adjustment is to experiment with better location for the GPS.

I know the depreciation thing is mainly due to unusual circumstances, but that is just icing on the cake. During "normal" times, an Aveo, or similar rent-a-car would still lose a greater percentage of its value than a Fit. That is one of the reasons I chose the Fit over the Fiesta. Korean cars are also getting better, but how is the resale?

I totally agree with the above point. Maybe someone would like to take the lead to start "What you like about your FIT" thread to balance the "Whats wrong with your Fit" .. good to hear from both angles once in a while

My 2010 A/T is approaching 9 months at 9,000K... ZERO problems as well

mine has been going on strong for 2 years. 2 issues are a dead battery and the lost motion spring recall that I haven't yet done.

I'm at almost two years and am still having similar results. I'm guessing it will be like this, other than wear items, for the life of the car.

LMS recall didn't go well, but that's water under the bridge now.

OP. search for 1 year and 38mpg. A Thread I started at my 1 year mark. I have an Excel Sheet that anyone can download and use to do all of the calculations if they have the odometer reading and the Gal for every fill-up. Feel free to download. (if you don't have excel, download openoffice.org - I tested the excel sheet on it too.)

I'm coming up on 2 years and have done 2 oil changes and the LMS recall. that's all.

I envy all of your "1 year, no problems". I just rolled over 1 year with 21k miles, and I've had a few problems (all covered by warranty). All in all I still love the car.

It will be one year tomorrow for me.

Tomorrow is the 1st anniversary of getting my Fit, too.
I have about 11,600 on the car. 4,500 is from a cross country trip last summer. My car was not affected by the lost motion spring recall either.
I have had 2 very minor issues-- one was a worn spot in the carpet replaced under warranty. The other was a broken piece of plastic on the compartment under the magic seat--cost me $11 to replace. (I think one of my grandkids tried to force it closed)
No complaints- I am very happy with the car & plan to keep it for many years
